I have a brown Australian Trail Rider's coat I wear frequently in inclement weather. I also have a brown Indiana Jones style fedora.
I don't think of myself as a lion....
Does that seem right to you?

I've got a brown suade jacket that I wear in late fall/early spring......but in winter I wear a black coat.
Wash: Yeah, but psychic? That sounds like science fiction.
Zoe: You live on a spaceship, dear.

It's getting a bit worn after everything it's been through, but I don't plan on replacing it anytime soon. I spent week picking it out, and a search this winter of outdoor clothing stores and catalogs didn't turn up anything suitable anyway.
Anyone else wear a brown coat in real life?
Yep. I have one that I am very proud of. My wife bought it for me for Valentine's Day three years ago. I wore it to Dragon Con two years ago as part of my Mal costume so some around here have seen it.
I wear it every time the weather permits since I live in Virginia. Not really the coldest of states. I normally start wearing it in October & wear it right on up until it gets too warm, sometime around March.
I wore my coat to opening night of the film. The guy taking tickets took one look at me & said, "Let me guess which movie you are here to see."
How shiny is that?

I wear a battered brown Carhartt work jacket with lots of useful pockets full of all manner of unpleasantness...
Since i drive a cab, a long coat isn't viable, but this beat up, super tough, many-pocketed, nice and warm thing has a lot of browncoat spirit.. always has.
For reasons we'll stay out of, I can't bear to wear my *very* favorite coat, the Mk65 is even comfier and warmer, but those are colors I refuse to fly anymore.
Anyhows, yeah, I gots a brown coat.

Oh yeah...I've also got a greencoat and a greyishcoat. It was kind of wierd when I first saw the series though, because I already kind of dressed like Mal (for looking okay at work), Jayne (for work days) and Wash (seemingly everyday).

While not so much in the long, Browncoat style, my leather coat is unmistakably a brownish color, so might that count?

Dont have a browncoat, can't seem to let go of my black leather trenchcoat. I do have a Jayne hat that i knitted my self (yes I am a male knitter) and a have a closet full of Hawain shirts.
also, off topic, i still have a bunch of yarn so if there is a high enough demand i might make a couple of Jayne hats and put them on E-Bay.
