"Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!" -The Great and Powerful Oz.

Ah, the pointless thread. A sure sign that your posting board has spun totally and utterly out of control :)

Now that we have the room you could explain what a "desktophippie" is - Sitting naked in front of the monitor with flowers in your hair?

I teach computers. And I'm a bit of a new age hippie. I use the name Desktop Hippie because I specialise in teaching people terrified of computers, promoting peace and harmony with their PCs. Man.

well it is a tradition here, where Haken will not allow anyone to delete a thread accidently opened...
in fact, if anyone ever does accidently open a thread and wishes for it to be ignored,
they should not ask
(and should never DEMAND) that it be ignored...
if they just attached some lame topic to it then it is much more likely to be ignored...
editing the title to be something like (hmmmm?)
What is Book's big secret?
What is in Inara's syringe?
Did Jubile Early live?
Let's sign a petition!
How can we revive the TV show?
(okay, sorry just too early in the morning for me to be funny...so I'm going for bitter & snarky instead)

Oh, Embers, don't be bitter and snarky! Come on, you can riverdance with me. Or...not so much with the dancing?
hmmmm....perhaps if you just sit quietly while I dance...

Sorry, my bad. I haven't seen Wizard of Oz in years so had no idea of the similarity to a quote.
I feel so ashamed, quotes are usually my thing

...about absolutely nothing.
I like it. Screw 'substance'. It's highly overrated.

Russell Dalrymple: "So, what have you guys come up with?"
Jerry: "Well, we thought about this in a variety of ways, but the basic idea is I would play myself..."
George: "May I...?"
Jerry: "Go ahead."
George: "I think I can sum up the show for you with one word: Nothing."
Russell Dalrymple: "Nothing?"
George: "Nothing!"
Russell Dalrymple: "What does that mean?"
George: "The show is about nothing!"
-from Seinfeld, A TV show, prescient of this thread...
(NB: Even though Seinfeld was about 'nothing', it was infinitely more substantive and entertaining than all the 'reality' shows combined. Does that seem right to you?)
