TOTALLY OT! You were warned.

So, I had a long and harsh day at work and now I have to go bake chicken but I had this vision and I wanted to share--

Listening to "Natural One" by Folk Implosion. And y'all know I'm creating a whole little fff.net 'verse where everybody is unique and inextricable. And I have this image in my head of all y'all, bitchin' dusters, holsters, badge for Haken, mongoose on leash for Melee, Kaythryn with wild red hair tons of other little details, somebody in a Hawaiian shirt--thinking Saint: walking slo-mo, "Right Stuff" style to this ass-kickin' song.

Okay. Just compelled to share. Cos y'all need to know you're special!

And no, the gin hasn't kicked in.

,
Sarah

Oh god, you made my day once again. I didn't know what song you were talking about so I just downloaded it and now I can't get this stupid grin off my face. That mental picture you painted is too funny.
But, where are you in this Firefly fan‘s ‘verse? I’ve yet to see you pop up in your own stories.

Funny? I could see that, what with the mongoose, but I was really thinking bad-ass, so much so that I kinda got a little teary.

Where am I? Not sure. I had this thought this weekend--an epiphany if you will (and LA, this is the one I don't want to bother you with). But I'm thinking that there might not be room for me in this 'verse. Got to look at y'all with a romantic (literal) gimlet (gin!) eye. If I could, I'd be between Succatash and Maniac, brown coat, American-flag chucks, funny-colored hair, notebook and pen.

But there's probably not a place for me. And that's the point. I've incorporated little bits of me into all the "characters" I'm creating. Maniac isn't the only one among us who has wanted to be a prof. And y'all haven't lived 'til you've taken my Survey of American History Since 1877.

Doubt I'll ever pop up in any actuality. The Browncoat Chronicles are about the amazingness that is the regular posters to this board. I honor y'all. I do. This is a way for me to keep on telling you how special you are to me and to this Browncoat 'verse.

Sarah

Don’t get me wrong, I get the bad ass part, but my mind just automatically goes the way of laughter. I see us walking in slow motion, the music playing, and a wind whips at the dust, blowing back our brown coats showing pistols slung at our hips. On the sidelines, Joe mindless fans usher their small children in-doors. A few more powerful steps are taken down the street, a wide camera view showing all of the bad ass brown coats in all their glory. Just then my boot catches on a pebble and I fall in slow motion, hitting face first into the dirt. The slow motion effect fades away, and the music screeches to a stop. It could all just end there, but then Melee’s mongoose gets loose and begins to chew on my ear while I’m down. This is why I’ve given up the fan fic writing, and left it up to you who know what you’re doing.

The loud crashing sound of trash cans startle Melee’s mongoose and it stops crewing on my ear. It lets loose a loud squeal and runs from the noise, back into the crowd of Brown coats. Melee runs after it. That’s when the infamous domino effect sets in. Brown coats unaware that the slow motion and music have stopped, keep marching onward. A few go down trying to avoid the screeching mongoose and its chasing owner, others step on my fallen body and slip, and still others try to help Wulf to his feet, and get pulled into the ever growing pile of downed Firefly fans. Brown coat lapels and worn boots are seen in mid air, sharp curses in Chinese can be heard, and a few harmless, stray bullets fly free from jostled pistols. After the dust has settled, and the “Goramm” quieted, the religious fans, and the close followers of Book send a thankful prayer to God. Thank God that the reality show fans all went inside and we were spared the humiliation of falling in front of them. As Wulf is finally pulled from the trash cans, Melee captures and leashes her beloved mongoose, and I am dragged to my feet laughter builds in the crowd. Good thing we are all family. The laughter deepens and grows in volume until a Joe senseless fan dares to peek his head outside a window to see what the commotion is. As if on cue, the music resumes and the slow motion effect restarts. All brown coats whip their heads forward again and continue their bad ass saunter down the street.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. This is a pure and total distraction from my art homework that I’m futilely avoiding.

*bump* Ooof! 'Scuse me! *dodges mongoose on the left and cow pats on the right, and ends up on her ass in the middle*

Radegund

P.S. In this universe, maybe my ass could be a little smaller?
