I don't know if you have already discussed it, but with the newfound fondness for sci-fi series' do you think it is possible that if the series to be given or pitched to the sci-fi they would bite?

With the solid fan base, and the already developed story I think that the Firefly universe will be revisited. I don't know if they will continue with the entire crew of Serenity, but with an already developed fan base, an active one at that (believe me, I know, I am a recent recruit).

It is good Sci-Fi, but it is also a good story, and the genre is growing. What with Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, and formost Firefly in the last decade, I think it is growing, and if done correctly it can replace the Western and gather together the Westerns Fans, then it will become a solid genre of Sci-Fi.

I wish that it had continued, but after watching all the commentaries, I think that if it had continued at a compramise to the original style we would have been left without it's full promise. I really dislike the goofiness that they forces Mal into becoming. I like Mal's character still, but the Pilot is the defining Mal in my opinion.

On the other hand, seening as how it is very Spaghetti Western-esque and very intillectual in its storyline, I don't see Firefly ever garning the fan base that the Star Trek or Star Wars series have. Essentially, I foresee a return to Firefly (maybe not the orignial style, but something to do with it), but it will follow the traditional path of the browncoats, a long hard fight against overwhelming odds.
