Me and a friend of mine (who works for EA) were talking about what a video game about serenity would be like. It would work if it was a cross between Fable and GTA, make it a 3rd person shooter with a bit of character development you would have to come up with am original story thou because stories taken from movies and TV shows rarely translate well to video games. So if you just keep the basic premise of firefly, a crew trying to survive on the edge of the solar system it could work well. What do ya think?

And yes I know about the cell phone game (that never got made), I'm talking about a full blown video game for Xbox 360 or ps3

Yes it could work infact we are doing it. Althogh it is a total converson of a 3rd person space trading game called Escape Velocity: Nova.

AWESOME. EVN is an awesome game, and seems to be a perfect platform for this. Do you have the Serenity RPG? It has a TON of info about the 'verse, including summaries of most of the planets, a system map, and so on.

No I don't have the RPG Book. One of our members has the Visual Companion but that’s it I think.

i think that if you make a game it would be amazing if you mabe it sort of like and rpg in the style of Gun or Sid Mirers Pirets a free roam rpg that can take you on the path ov a noble scavenger like mal or become a fedral agent in short do what ever you want when ever you wantin the firefly universe

I'd love to see a FireFly RPG video game. I would personally prefer something along the lines of a Final Fantasy. Start the game with 3 characters, collect the others as you go through the story. switch out which three are in the "party". Each has their own specialty weapon. Inara's bow, Jayne's Vera, etc. Jump on board Serenity to travel from destination to destination. You could even add one of those silly card games they put in 8 & 9, "Tall Card". Do jobs. Get paid. Keep flyin'.
Of course any game that's not MMORPG is like to get my attention. I buy a game, I get to play it. Not pay each month I want to play it. Plus On-line should never be required for a game.

I was just playing the game Wild Guns for the Super Nintendo over the weekend, and thinking how easy that setting could apply to Firefly. If anybody's played the game, they may know what I'm talking about when I say that.

If I knew how to hack a ROM of the game and make the necessary changes, I'd do it in a minute. It is so easy to picture Mal, Jayne, Zoe, and Inara as playable, selectable characters in the game...with cameo's from the other characters in-between stages of course. Maybe have Wash fly in with the Serenity every-so-often dropping power-ups, with River as an unlockable, playable character after you beat the game.

Any aspiring programmers out there? Feel free to do some hacking...steal my ideas, I don't give a hoot. Just keep the game free and downloadable.

It would be good to start with all the characters but have them all have one skill that there the best at like it is in the show. you could have each characters improve slightly in any attribute but they would never be good as the one that specializes in that area like mal could never be as good a doctor a Simon but he could learn basic first aid. Another good thing would be to make it like a sim game in that you have to manage finances fuel and food on the ship and maybe make some improvements to it like in the engines or med bay. I wouldn’t want the characters to step too far out side there rolls because that would mess up the dynamic that the crew has. And it would also be cool to have ship missions as well as land ones. Id also like it to be heavily action oriented no turn based crap or menus just you and some characters that you chose to come with you controlled by some good AI.
