So let's re-elaborate. It's not just the email addr that folks are worried about. It's also their home addr, home phone number - it's pretty much everything that a crazy would need to come to your house and shoot up the place - or some well placed daily harassment phone calls.

I think you would feel very different if some crazies get ahold of your fleshspace identity. I for one would not like it very much if people I don't know (i.e. every crazy out there with
a computer) gets ahold of my *home* address and *home* phone number where *my family* and I reside. No thanks, spam I can filter and deal with; that's what the delete key is for.

(I don't know how much spam you get, but I am up to my armpits in them daily even before I wake up - filters are not perfect, and I still end up
having to go thru them to make sure legitimate stuff is still being read)

I think that's the point, that *all* of your personal info gets laundered out onto the world -
not just your email. If it's just me fine, I welcome a few intruders for target practice; but I've got family to worry about.

This site is worth bending over for. Life's a bitch, and you have to choose your battles. Firefly is worth fighting for, but I wouldn't lose sleep over some email spam. He could use a yahoo email for that matter.

That's right, right now that's all
being posted on the whois DB.
Including phone number and fax number.
I personally wouldn't care for all
of that posted on that.

What's worst. spammers troll the
whois DB for email addresses.
The dumbest thing that I have ever
seen is getting slew and slew of
spam and then getting the stupid
spam from the spammer telling me
how effective their emailing list
is - would I like to buy into it.

You know what, one day, I think I
will take them up on their offer.
Then find out who these bastards
are, where they live, and splat
that all over the net.

How you like that?!

Isn't that what that ICANN p3.3.1.6 sez?

Besides, having a realname to match up
with an online name is almost as good
as getting all of your personal info.
You can dig up so much more with a realname.

Why would anyone care about his name? This doesn't seem like a big deal at all, as long as he can keep his domain. This site is very excellent.
