Anyone know where to find quality replicas of Serenity firearms like Mal's pistol or Jayne's precious Vera?

I believe I saw an unpainted, resin/plastic model kit of Mal's pistol on eBay last week.

When I saw it, no one had bidded on it. By now, I believe the bidding on that item is now closed though.

At least we know they're out there!

I believe I've seen this seller's resin models at last DragonCon. If so, they're good, high-quality garage resin kits.

Mal's pistol is the only weapon to have been garage resin'd so far. However, some of the other guns we see used in the series are "kinda" available.

Jayne's pistol is a gussied up LeMat revolver. Cast metal, non-firing replicas are easy to score, and often find their way onto eBay -- search for "lemat". Prices should be in the 45.00-50.00 range (USD). Add a short sightrail to the top with resin or solder, and you're good to go.

Zoe's firearm is a "mare's leg", a cut down Winchester 1894 saddle carbine. My recommendation would be to get either a plastic lever-action toy gun, or -- if you're slightly more flush -- get a cast-metal replica, from the same kinds of folks who sell the LeMat replicas. Then settle in with a hacksaw, and do your durndest.

Sawed-off shotguns and short barrel shotguns are very popular among folks in the 'verse. Like lever action toy rifles, these are rather popular right now (WalMart often carries a fair amount of both).

They have a WIDE variety of toy guns, ranging from extraordinarily cheesy looking stuff to almost hero-prop grade. If you're jonesing to do some shiny prop firearms, you could do a LOT worse than look these guys up.

(Take special note of their "Free Stuff" section, and scroll down. Yes, a certain item is out of stock... but I am betting if enough Browncoats put names to waiting list, that they'll go get a new supply of...

ah, but that would be telling.

Yep, shiny freebie. I did some research on the LeMat revolver, and must say a nine-shot .40 cal w/ a shotgun barrel attached is VERY Jayne. Found me a not-astronomically-priced replica at http://www.kopes.com/weapons/le-mat-revovler.htm. They got them some other replicas too that'd fit in on the fringes of the 'verse. Full-functional LeMats can be found at http://www.navyarms.com/html/le_mat_rev.html, but I ain't got anywhere near that kinda money. Couldn't have it shipped to Jersey anyway.
