Serenity RPG: Skills Question

Hey all you fans of the Serenity RPG, I need you help! I apologise if these sound like silly questions. I have not finished reading the Serenity RPG book and don't have a copy of it handy as I type this.

I'm thinking of running a "heist" adventure with the Serenity RPG for my group. In particular I want to know:

1) What skill does a character use to defeat a security system? Covert?

2) What skill does one use to do research on the Coretex? Is this even possible? I don't really recall any instances of it in the show off hand. It seems like it is mostly used for "video-mail", but the book seems to suggest that it is useful for research. Is this a Knowledge Skill?
