I wonder what the shipping rates are to the States, though. 
When the going gets random, the random go golfing. Or at least this kid does. If I keep my toes crossed maybe it won't rain; but a bad day golfing beats a good day at work, and all that.

What was wrong with Linsday's british accent? I thought it was great!

Oh, and that reminds me, I've always wondered if it's easy to spot american actors doing british accents in movies and whatnot. I can sometimes catch non-american actors failing at American accents.

Well, I figured it was about time that I posted in this topic and introduced myself and stuff. I'm Rob, I'm nearly 20 and I've never been to a con before but the guys I met in Edinburgh convinced me to get a ticket for Serenity²... so yay, I think! I'm hoping to convince one of my mates to come with me but otherwise I'll be the one wandering around wide eyed looking bemused at everything that's happening.
So anyway, from what everyones been saying (and what I've understood) it looks like everyone has a fun time at these things, hoping this one will be cool too. Just a quick question - is it worth staying in the hotel itself or are there other cheaper options around (I'm a cheapskate!). Or, as I live in London, is it even worth staying in a hotel at all? Would be cool if I could get a bit of advice on all this.

as for Serenity² how dare you go back on topic, tut tut shame on you
buy yaay for coming, you will find plenty of people to hang round with, failing anything else, just grab onto nathan fillions leg and dont let go.
as for staying at the hotel, i always do, purely because i get too drunk to know where im staying but i can usually get pointed towards my room and i find it. but i know some people stay at other hotels on bath road, and there is plenty, the sheraton is one i believe.

Hey Rob :) firstly welcome to the madness!
I live just about half hour away from the con, but only last week i booked into the hotel. partly because everyone here was bullying me and carol was using her boobs as a weapon, but mostly because i didnt fancy the drive home at about midnight every night i would be there. be comfy and stay. be worth it in the end.
and now back to chocolate covered lamas!
