Lost (What is really going on there)
Space Above and Beyond (if it EVER materialises)
The lost boys (Why havent I got this yet?)
Venus Wars (Can't seem to find it)
and the defining show in Sci-fi comedy:
Red Dwarf
Chrisisall:
The ol' man raves about Kung-Fu, is it that western/martial arts thing? Wasn't it the brainchild of Bruce Lee? I assume its good if you've just bought the DVD
.
Q: What do you have when you are holding two little green balls in your hand.
A: Kermit's undivided attention.

Hey Citizen,
I don't know if you saw the thread on Space Above and Beyond in these forums but here is the info:
Space Above and Beyond will be released exclusively by Best Buy on September 6, 2005. The other stores/online stores will release the DVD set at some later date. You can order the DVD set from bestbuy.com for $41.99.
The DVD set will be bare bones, no extras, but it's still a DVD set.

I might try 'Kung-Fu', too, as I've heard a lot of good things about it.

Quote:Bruce Lee had a couple of meetings with TV execs concerning it, but he didn't create it or anything.

The show ran 3 seasons, and had a planned ending, which brought the story full circle- rare for TV.
The kung-fu is simple, perfect Tai-Chi deriven stuff, beautiful to look at, yet effective. (no lightning Hong Kong moves here, refreshing)
And the stories are all about forgiveness, tollerance, and acceptance. With a few fights thrown in to get the ratings.
Well worth investing in.

Added: Venus Wars is da bomb! I saw it online somewhere last year...

Hmmm..."Lost", "Alias4", "West Wing6" (usually buy the cheaper R1 versions but given we've yet to see this series over yet yet, reckon I'll spend the money & forget the extras). Argh, too much money!
But the one I'm really excited about is "American Gothic" - finally out in October! (was pleased to see one of the cast in the BDM).

Hmm, where do I start?
I'm definitely going to get the US release of Battlestar Galactica
Scrubs Seasons 1 & 2
Sledge Hammer! Season 2
Stargate Season 8 when it's released
Smallville season 3
and possibilities:
Wonderfalls
Lost (It's only just started here, so I'm not sure yet - or if it will be as good watching it again)
Alias Seasons 3 & 4. Though they're not definites considering they're not as good as the first two
and Smallville season 4. It's the most uneven season with some really bad ones (who came up wtih the idea of Lana being a witch?!!) but theres also some really good episodes in there too (Pariah for one)
Needy. Male Companion a.k.a. First Boy Whore of Destiny

The new BSG season one is very good - if you liked the "pilot" (they called it a mini series) you'll like what they do in the next 11 (#?) episodes.
I've seen a few eps of Earth 2, and apart from the Sid and Marty Croft stuff I look forward to watching more - it's early but so far so good.
Has any one heard of the Defa Scifi Collection? I saw it at Amazon and decided to take a shot. Rotten Tomatos says:
Synopsis:
The East German-based DEFA film studio produced three great sci-fi films in the 1970s, which are collected on this set.

sounded interesting so what the hey.

Yeah I know. I was one of those lucky UK viewers that got to view it months before it was shown in the US
I've held off buying the UK set though, cos I knew the US one would have all the extras. Same with the miniseries.
I hope to get it soon so that I can watch it again before new episodes are shown over here
