Can I complain for a moment, please? Feel free to ignore the whining.
I wrenched my lower back yesterday afternoon trying to rearrange my bedroom furniture and I am in SERIOUS PAIN. Spent most of yesterday with ice packs on my back, watching DVDs and doing this needlepoint project that I started forever ago but never bothered to finish but did yesterday simply because I had nothing better to do. Now I'm at work and there is just no comfortable way to sit at my desk and do my work and I'm in so much pain that I feel a bit nauseaous.
Not a good day to be me.
Okay, complaining done.

Back pain = not good. I'd definitely agree with Fray, get it sorted early, there's no quick fixes and any attempts to muddle through often come back to bite you in the proverbial.
Not too sure about the vodka bit though, particularly if you've taken a few painkillers. Might not react well together.

Brandy tis the only sure cure for physical ailments!
The British Army used to use it for just that purpose.
Then they came up with morphine, which works better. So use that if you have it.
