The Firefly: Immediate Assistance initiative recently placed an ad in Variety in support of Firefly. Designed by Kristen Reidel of SGC Web Design, the ad is fully fan funded and appeared in the December 9th issue of Variety.

Why does the ad not tell what time the show is on?

because it wasn't an ad for the viewers but an ad for the TV professionals and they already know when it's on and where.
it was a way of showing the professionals that there are people out there that like the show and thank them for making it.
but maybe all of this should have been explained with the messages about the ad. I had to learn it myself by reading more about it. maybe telling that Variety is a magazine for TV professionals would have shed some light on it. read the ad again with that in mind and it makes a lot more sense. but maybe it was assumed that everybody knows what Variety is. I didn't but I'm german so that might be an excuse.
