I am pleased to report that a full page ad for the campaign ran in yesterday's Daily Variety. For those of you who are not in the greater Los Angeles area, a digital copy of the ad can be found online: http://sgcwebdesign.com/fireflysupport/

Thank you, everyone. The support has been overwhelming and we couldn't have done any of this without you.

It's a great ad. Hopefully enough folks will see it and realize the show is too great to cancel. I wish it had day and time and channel info on it... but maybe I'm misunderstanding the periodical it's appearing in. Who is the audience of this magazine?

______________
Mal: Okay, help me find our man. He's supposed to be old, kinda stocky, wears a red sash crossways.
Kaylee: Why does he do that?
Mal: Maybe he won the Miss Persephone Pageant. Just help me look.

Yeah, a bit of direction as to where to find the series on television would have been a good idea for those who have never heard of the series.

It's for the folks who are in the business - the people who makes decisions about the shows in the first place. Variety is sort of like People for the folks in the entertainment industry - it has all the news, the gossip, reports on $$ returns, buzz about companies, status of films in production, etc.

One of my guilty pleasures years ago when I was doing some work at Skywalker Ranch was reading Variety cover to cover.

It's also the place where people put ads pushing somebody's nomination for an academy award or patting themselves on the back.

Since Variety is "the" industry rag for the
entertainment industry. The main target is
the folks in the biz - to get the execs and
the sponsors' attention. It's not a TV guide.

The ad pretty much tells those folks that
the show is that good that the fans are
maniacal enough to put an ad on their turf
thanking them for the show. And to keep
doing the show.
