I wonder if a lot of people were screening their Firefly disks for family over the holiday weekend...
:)
Just a hop and a skip til we're number 1 again!

At 12:30pm EST, Firefly is currently #2 at Amazon...right behind the 6th season of The Simpsons.
The original Star Wars trilogy is at #5.

Damn that's just so very impressive. I really wish we could find sales figures because this is just plain amazing.
The only sad thing is that this has probably made Fox view Firefly as a success for them. It just keeps rolling in the money and they haven't had to spend any on it in a long long time.

This is impressive. I wonder if some mainstream entertainment writers will notice and talk about how this 3 year old cancelled show that few people watched is climbing Amazon's chart. I have noticed the trailer on Coming Attractions on E! in two separate editions. Maybe that'll help.
C'mon Number One! We are mighty!

Not to poop on the parade, 'cause being at the top of the Amazon charts is big, however ...
Seems Amazon is the only online store where Firefly is doing well. I've checked a few others (Barnes and Noble most recently), and it seems it's never near the top or even on the list. That, or I'm looking in the wrong place. Anyone know?
Again, don't let me get you down - I'm as excited about the Amazon numbers as anyone.

As a sort of counterpoint to STP's comment, I submit today's CNN article:
http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/internet/07/05/decadeofamazon.ap/index.ht
ml
An interesting excerpt from the article:
---
With $6.92 billion in sales in 2004, Amazon ranked at the top of Internet Retailer's annual top 400 list, well ahead of computer maker Dell Inc., which posted $3.25 billion in online business-to-consumer sales. Office Depot Inc., which has a partnership with Amazon, wasn't far behind with $3.1 billion.
---
So, while it is true that there are other internet retailers out there, being high up on Amazon's list does, in fact, have a rather pointed significance.
