The Cargo Bay's Shadow....

So i've been thinking... if you look at the design of Serenity,you see that there is a long neck and then the cargo bay underneath it. Now here's where I'm fuzzy.... if the neck extends over the cargo bay doors.... shouldnt there be a huge shadow over the cargo bay all the time?

Yes, i know it would be hard to light properly, but still, since you never get any vertical shots outside the ship, it might give it some flavor.
