my friends always mock me for being a costner fan! (well one in particular does...) i just don't understand how anyone can not like dances with wolves.

iloved stephen culp in desperate housewives too...the finale made me very sad:(

I find there's something very honest, straightforward and appealing about K. Costner. Maybe it's because he's the son of a ditchdigger who eventually made lineman. Working class roots have provided him a certain no-nonsense honor that translates into a distinctive gaze and self-deprecating way of speaking; even passing humility is a rare commodity in the performance arts.

He's not perfect, but that's appealing too, to a regular guy. He's certainly honest and brave. According to IMDB: "His frontal nude scene in "For Love of the Game" (1999) was reportedly deleted after being met with laughter at test screenings." That's what I call brave. Maybe it was cold on the set that day, hmmm?

Gotta love his baseball movies. "Bull Durham" is a classic, by my reckoning, even with Tim Robbins doing his best to prove he's not an actor. (NB: My first thought, everytime I see Robbins, is 'Nuke L.A. Loosh'.) Likewise, "Field of Dreams" gets me crying like a baby in about 4 or 5 scenes. Archie Graham... There, I'm crying into the keyboard...

But anybody -- male or female -- who pisses off Madonna backstage after her dance revue, er, music concert, by telling her the show was really "neat", is a hero in my books. I thought she was gonna have cats with crocheted tails...

P.S.
He could've hit Madonna with a sack of Bibles and a bucket of Holy Water and not injured her worse than that 'neat' comment, implying that her show was somehow wholesome.

I would SO do Kevin Costner in that centerField of Dreams. If he builds it, I will come.....but not so much in the other movies. Go figure.

I have had Snapple in the past, it was ok. But I am not much of a juice drinker. 98% of the time, I drink water. Milk is 1% and PEPSI is the other 1% (Pepsi RULES in my book).

PepsiMilk is Twiggy's thing. It's either Pepsi OR milk for me. No mixing of the streams.

Regional names are funny aren't they? I had a friend who hailed from Ohio ask me if I wanted a "pop" once and I had no idea what she was talking about. She said, "A sodapop!" I said, "OH! A soda! Yeah, I'll take Pepsi."

Jack Daniels was my drug of choice during my music years. My daddy taught me to fear the law, so I never touched illegal substances, although everyone I associated with did. The things that happened to them, as a result of those activities, is a tale of woe that might rend your very soul. As a result of bearing witness to those things, I was never much tempted by coke, crystal or doobage. "Why do you think they call it 'stupid'?" as one of my roadies used to slur.

No, I had my old buddy Jack Daniels. I was killing myself legally. At the height of my abuse, I was drinking enough to drop a rhino on a nightly basis. Something I used to make a point of stressing to the audience at least once a night: "Nobody outdrinks the band." And I meant it.

But surprise, surprise. I was a total a$$hole when I got lit up. Some folks drink and they get sloppy or happy or sleepy. Not me. When I got drunk, I got sharper, until anyone coming in contact with me got cut. That's why I admire Eastwood's "Unforgiven". I recognize a kindred soul in Munny. When he gets drunk and snake-eyed in the final scene, I recognized myself.

Mr. Daniels and I have been separated since 1989. And good riddance to bad rubbish. I may still be an a$$hole; but, at least I'm not a drunken a$$hole.

Still have a beer every now and again while watching special sports events. Super bowl, World Series... Tonight's Miami-Detroit game 7. Got some Shiner in the fridge and fixins for killer nachos. Go Heat! (NB: If Dwyane Wade doesn't play and play well, Miami is done. But I wanna see The Diesel and Duncan go at it, and I got $5 and bragging rights riding on the Heat.)
