* TheRealMe takes off his mask, to reveal the man behind TheRealMe. *

Chris, I was merely repairing the damage you caused in a way that is plausible within the reality of our created world.

Chris, there is something that you are plainly not getting. We are here to have fun. We are here to be creative. It is a very long, co-operative story that we are all writing. You could be part of it, but you do not own it.

Nobody, not even TheRealMe, always gets his or her way. Quite often, I think of some interesting (to me) way for the story to go, only to find that someone else has taken it in a very different direction. What do I do? I go with the flow. Often, I am able to adapt my “lost” ideas into a new story. Sometimes, it is a challenge to continue the story from where someone else has left it.

We do not always agree.

Static, for instance, seems to have a low tolerance for fighting and adventures, or ship-threatening emergencies, or complicated plot lines. He seems quite content to wrap his cyber-arms around ThatWeirdGirl and pretend to cuddle in an imaginary jacuzzi. It seems that he could do that indefinitely.

I, on the other hand, consider this to be mind-numbingly dull (sorry, Static, no offense intended). I want the things that he doesn’t, namely the things that I consider a plot, a story, which by its nature includes conflict of some kind. That is why I depend so much on Rat and Cozen for getting us into trouble.

Now, when things do not go my way, I do not blow up the entire Sereni-Tree in a temper tantrum. I do not murder everyone on the crew. I go with the flow. I recognize that some folks want to do something different from time to time, and I let them do that. I do not spoil THEIR fun.

Then the action starts up again. That means it’s MY turn to have fun again.

We co-exist.

If you don’t like how the ladies behave in the old Clubhouse, then have your character react to it. But it is not at all fair to completely shut down someone else’s enjoyment. You can’t kill another person’s character. That is not fair.

Protest. Ignore the ladies’ rules. Start your own clubhouse. Spike the punch with a laxative. Whatever. Have yet another wave of Evil Invaders attack.

But don’t try to ruin it for everyone. Like I said, we are here to have fun and be creative.

If you are here to get upset and be destructive, then you are in the wrong place.

It is hard to create. It is easy to destroy. We have been working very hard on this creation for over a year now. Please do not ruin it for us because it would be easy for you.

This is still something that you could be a part of. But that is your decision.

-- Ed

Hey, TRM! who was that impressive being who was smouldering and... coughing???
*points* Did you burn your hand?

Do you need some help, Jet's not terribly interested in clubhouseness. She wants something to keep her busy. Can we help? I could just, y'know, hand her a wrench or something, while I grow some bouquets or something?

sorry at a loss here with too much beer ;p

Needleseye, that was… that was…

* TheRealMe moves to wipe a tear from his eye, then flinches because he tried to use his burned hand. *

That was TheGreyJedi. He’s back.

* TheRealMe almost said, “He’s alive,” but wasn’t sure that was technically accurate. *

Well, we have a lot of work to do if we are to repair our engines before the next attack. Perhaps you, Jet, and I can start, then Grey can join in when he feels like it.

Shoot! Can't remember all the words (remember, it's late) but here's what I CAN remember:

"Knights in white satin/
something something something/
letters I've written/
never meaning to send/
as these something before me/
something, something else/
just what the truth is/
I don't care anymore/
Chorus:
Cause I love you/
Yes, I love you/
Lord, how I love you"

Really more of a song you have to hear. The part where he sings the chorus is awesome. Gives me chills.

Maybe I should try someting else.

"If you want my body/
and you think I'm sexy/
come on baby let me know." Just kidding.

"Invader's blood marches through my veins like giant radioactive rubber pants. The pants command me! Do not ignore my veins!"

*Jet straightens out her coveralls and stands up straight, trying not to grin too much. Needleseye smirking in an undercurrent of glee* Uh yeah TRM, sounds great lets go fix stuff, just don't ask for any technobabble. (since therealneedleseye has tipsied the smarts right out of herself)

IRT TRM
I guess I don't understand it here, if TGJ can have fun by destroying all of the plot people have been working on for 20,889 words and breaking one of Static’s four rules in a single post why can't I have fun by setting fire to a clubhouse, offering him a soda, and reintroducing plot elements from the TF"NaG/"C?

Was it the fact I said I don’t like Pepsi?

When you don’t understand the rules it’s hard to cooperate, regardless of other factors.

-

Anyway, I’m posting this here so that anyone who thinks they can make me understand the answer to my question can give it a go, but I wouldn’t recommend responding to it in thread. Just gums up the works.

I still maintain that Cozen is to blame!

On the contrary. . .

I thoroughly enjoy all manner of fighting and adventures.

I certainly enjoy cyber-lovin' on TWG as well. . .but I like a BREAK from fight to fight once in a while, and the only thing that bugs me is that just as soon as a cool volleyball game or jacuzzi party or somesuch, then the carnage begins.

That's all.

Pretty much everything else you said was spot-on.
