Well, when you think you could buy the DVD for less than that...

I've grown kind of immune to London prices but it comes as a bit of a shock to tourists!

At least the cinema in question is a nice one - it's where they hold the BAFTAs (our version of the Oscars) so at least you can console yourself by thinking of the famous people who may have shared your seat!

Lucas still made a crappy movie. Were it not for the nostalgia of a generation ago wanting to see this moive, it would have been a flop.

Agreed. But let's still welcome enthuasiam for the originals that the new ones generate! Everywhere I look, they're selling lightsabres and such. That's a good thing, right?

I agree, the originals are like a religious experience for me too. Harrison Ford was the heart and soul of the originals for me though.

He was great in 4, unbelievable in 5, but sorta only good in 6, I thought. I felt he and Carrie just weren't so into it for the third time around, but Mark only kept getting better as he went along, IMHO.
But still, good Ford is better'n great most other actors.

Doesnt it make you feel old when you see actors today that you loved when you were young and now they are grey and old.. intellectually I know that I am aging too.. scares me. Is 36 old? I still feel like a teenager (I'd like to still feel a teenager too but alas she is also in her 30's now)

36 is practically a teenager as far as I'm concerned. Is Nathan Fillion young? Then so are you.
Jackie Chan is 6 years my senior, yet he does things I'll never be able to do.
Jayne Seymour was my childhood crush, she STILL is lookin' good!

"Then my father is truly dead..." You know, Darth Vader got all the best lines in Episode 6, and for good reason. I remember being quite sad at the theater with his demise.

But, I have to say that Harrison looked like he phoned in his part on Return. He didn't want to be there, and you could tell. But, man, was he used to explosive effect in Empire.

But, one more thing about Darth Vader, and I'm out...When he ignited that Lightsaber after Luke turned himself in, I remember being genuinely afraid that he was going to use it, and that's saying quite a thing for a character who is 1)In a mask, 2)Requires dual acting for his character ...I mean, voice and body (Jeremy Prowse is an imposing figure) and 3)That he was just that bad...I knew Luke was his son, but I still thought he might just go ahead and off him...Then again, I was 8 when it came out.

For me, Darth is what its all about in Return. Han in Empire, and Luke in Hope.

Same here! I thought he might cut off another hand or something. I was shaking in the theatre at that point. Not since then has a character terrified me like that. (Niska taking Mal's ear came close, though)
