What Firefly Means To Me
Wednesday, 08 November 2006 01:23:57

To me Firefly is my chance to explore the world, face perilous peril, fly into outerspace looking down on the world and to catch a glimpse of the future all packed into the perfect SCFI seiries of all time. Firefly is a chance tobe who I want to be. Even after being cancled Firefly has inspired many people to just let loose, not liten to the rules and follow your dreams no matter how crazy. I'm one of these people and Firefly has helped me through some tough times. The following is part of diary enty I wrote. 1/3/06 9:08 "I didn't see Firefly today or yesterday and if I don't see an episode or Serenity tomorrow my life will be headed for the corner of no and where."

Chinese
Wednesday, 08 November 2006 01:43:08

I love the Chinese in Firefly. I love how now I can say whatever I want to people and they won't get mad at me for saying something rude or mean. In fact sometimes people hardly ecnolage that I have spoken at all.

Update on "Hulk smash computer. Throttle Todd."
Wednesday, 08 November 2006 15:57:54

I e-mailed Trixie about this discrpancy, and I actually came up with a solution. Trixie has some time booked for the studio as well. I figured that when she's done with her subject (around 6:30/7), then I can come over and do my photos of her then. So problem solved. Will not throttle Todd. BTW, is there a doctor in the house? I've had this weird feeling in my torso the last few days. Today is a lot better, but my abdomen just feels sore. Like really sensitive to push down on. The only thing I can think of that would have caused this is that I did some sit-ups on Sunday. But that shouldn't cause that much pain, right? The kind that lasts for a few days. I'm way too busy with school to waste time at a walk-in clinic.

Cruising along
Wednesday, 08 November 2006 16:26:38

Quick update...things are going along well...the house is on it's way to being done (only took a month!), and the bar still has some work until it's ready for a full-on Shindig. I've posted some photos of it in the Blue Sun Room...I'll be putting up a few more today. I'm dating again, and having a grand old time. It's nice to be able to go out, have fun, and not worry about anything beyond tomorrow. The costuming is coming along as well...I'm stitching as fast as I can, and trying to develop even more Firefly-themed costumes for y'all. If you have any ideas, feel free to let me know! Work is picking up, which has kept me from playing here as often as I like...I do miss the daily posts. Again, thanks to my extended family for being here for the good times and the bad! Y'all truly are the shiniest folk in the 'Verse!

Aim to misbehave
Wednesday, 08 November 2006 16:52:02

Hey I aim to misbehave, potentially more than the rest of ya'll. Come on, I'm a musician. For instance, my diet consists of fried food, nicotine, energy drinks, and alcohol. But, my loving this community, has nothing to do with not aiming to misbehave, it has to do with being around individuals that share common interests and views, as opposed to the ignorant f@#$-tards I have to deal with most everywhere else. So for me, my family here, is a relief. And remember, friends are the family you choose. Dong ma? Shiny, let's be bad guys.

things you shouldn't do whilst trying to write notes part one
Wednesday, 08 November 2006 20:28:03

yes this will probably be turned into a series whenever I find a new thing to say. Things you shouldn't do whilst trying to write notes 1. Watch a Ross Noble DVD. Seriously, instead of writing said notes, i got sucked into watching and ended up killing myself laughing. So that was part one. Here is a picture of my friend andrew to keep you occupied

I spotted my first Toronto Browncoat!
Wednesday, 08 November 2006 23:46:01

I know this isn't very exciting news for anyone else but it is for me. Today I spotted my first Toronto Browncoat! I saw a green Subaru Legacy with the licence plate "MEIMEI".

My definition of Firefly
Wednesday, 08 November 2006 23:50:31

One of my fellow Browncoats posted a log entry "What Firefly Means to Me" and talked about the mentality, etc. of the browncoat life. I left him a response, but decided I wanted to share this with everyone, because I have recently had a Browncoat experience which was just fantastic. Firefly, to me, is not about a fabulously written and acted show and movie, and it's not about a force of will that got a full length movie, even though it is all of those things. This is what Firefly means to me: I like writing fanfic, and a fair number of you all out there enjoy reading it, so everyone gets something out of it, haha. My life recently has been an absolute trainwreck, and anyone who read "Annabelle" and "Reconsider Me" will have a good idea about what is going on. believe it or not, it is even more complicated than what i wrote about, God help me. Well, the level of support I received from people whom I do not know and probably never will know, except in the fact that we all wear coats colored brown, has been astonishing. Firefly, to me, is means a philosophy and mentality, a sense of community and belonging, where someone in Australia can support some dude in Boston going through troubles. I want to thank all of my fellow browncoats, and hope I can do the same someday. That's what Firefly means to me.

It's up! Frantic scribbling finished for now. Plot to continue, but I just HAD to post this at what felt like a good stopping place.
