hey, gang.. Just got my first hate mail (anonymous, of course).. this jackass called me all sorts of interesting names (misspelled most of 'em...) Does this mean I made the big time? Never got hate mail before..I've been flamed a few times, But nothing as personal as this attack...somehow this "person" got my email address...so whoever it is consider yourself blocked, plonked, and filtered..Not gonna spend the effort to fight with you... On a happier note..Had my nieces and nephew over this weekend..they are 10,9,and 8..and watched the BDM with them and my brother..so they ask me "If eveytime someone say's Miranda, does the girl beat up the Big guy?"...I had to pause the movie till I quit laughing...out of the mouth of babes,eh?

Wow. Been a while since I've looked in on this site... and I'm absolutely giddy! It seems that no matter how much stuff is going on in your life, and no matter how much time has passed between now and the last showing of anything Firefly-related, this site remains loyal and up to date with all things Serenity. I'm really impressed! Coming here after all this time is like coming home. The Browncoats haven't skipped a beat, and let me just say I love you all the more for it! Keep up the good work :smile:

I just bought a Serenity tee shirt at the Hot Topic that just opened up in the mall near me. It's black with the Serenity logo from the ship. Shiny. Hopefully more clothing shall be forth coming. I'd love an honest to God Jayne Orange knit hat.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! So. Malnourished is going to Moonlight Rising with me and asked to be in my fic. Seeing as how I didn't want to put up with her whinging for months and then meet her in real life, wish granted. Where's Waldo? Seems like a long weekend off of writing did me good. Had a long chat with my brother about where this is gonna eventually go and that helped immensely. Am very happy with the plot, but the writing could use a little polishing. It also helped that MalNourished and FollowMal were being insanely sick and disgusting during our Yahoo Conference. Nothing gets those creative juices flowing like a low, down, dirty and lewd discussion of all the *cough* attributes of our beloved Captain. We have now come down the the basest of humors. The inside joke. Most having to do with our beloved Captain and various levels of...impropriety. Furthermore, if you need explanation of any of our conversations and blurbs on the threads from here on in, please know that you subject yourself to utter insanity. You have been warned.

Well, my first little chapter of the story I've had kicking around in my head is up and posted. Changed a bit from how I initially conceived it, but I don't want to reveal anything just yet. It was shorter then I would have liked I think, but before I canonballed into the pool I wanted to get something floating around out there, get a little feedback, see if I'm on the right track. It's my first fanfiction in, well, quite a long time. I sort of retired from the fanfiction arena, worked on my own stuff, took some creative writing, thought I'd moved on. But gorram it, I love my Firefly and I knew I had to do something. Keeps me busy, lets my imagination play out, and just maybe I can find a little niche for myself to keep me busy. Well, to anyone who decides to give it a whirl, I hope you like it. My thoughts about writing on the crew? At first I stumbled through it a bit, I wasn't real sure I liked what I had going. I wrote a short scene in the dining room that was really meant to let me get a feel for Mal, then I went right to the scene with Simon. I felt of all the characters, I would have the easiest time writing him. I hope I did my job satisfactorily, though I don't know how I'm going to deal with River outside of paying much closer attention to all of her scenes. Without revealing much I will say that my original notion of how things are going to unfold had Mal in the center stage, but I do think that now that I've gotten these first few scenes written out, River is going to play a very large role. Well, I'm going to see just how things go. I've got the confidence to say I've got a master plan, and I think I can tell it. Well, if you actually read this rambling, then I'm a slack-jawed idiot, surprised you would. I suspect more entries in my little blog here will deal with my experiences working on my fanfic and who knows maybe it'll even help someone else with their own!

Most of ye have probably seen this already - I only came across it today. It's a update on Serenity DVD sales as of Feb 18th from www.sliceofscifi.com At that stage Serenity had already made enough money to turn a profit and since the European DVD has only been released subsequently then the profits will be even more by now. This is the article: February 18, 2006 DVD Sales Push Serenity Over The Top Submitted by: Sevens Newsarama is reporting that the combined sales of theater tickets and DVD sales has turned Serenity out of the red and into the black. The total production costs for the Joss Whedon film was $39 million with a rumored advertising cost at approximately another $10 million making the total out of Universal's pocket at around $49 million. The total U.S. theater box office take was a disappointing $25 million with international theatrical sales fairing little better at $13 million leaving Universal in the red for a whopping $28 million when taking into account that studios receive around 55% of total ticket sales. With that kind of red ink Universal and Whedon have been walking around with all their fingers crossed hoping that the DVD sales would at least allow them to break even and show the pic in the black, even if only marginally. And it looks like all the finger crossing has paid off as the latest DVD numbers look very encouraging. All DVD reports up to January 31st are in and it looks like over 2 million DVD's have been sold and VideoBusiness.com, an organization that tracks video rental information, announced that Serenity has made $9 million in DVD rentals alone. The fact that Serenity has taken Universal out of the red and into the black is great news, but don't cheer too early. According to Universal execs it still may not be enough for them to wager on a costly sequel, even though Whedon brought this one in at $1 million under its original projected cost of $40 million. So kids, perhaps, like Universal and Joss Whedon, we need to start crossing all our fingers for a sequel and maybe, just maybe, like the studio coming out of the red, Serenity Part 2 can come out on the big screen.

Firefly... wow. Really. And those podcasts: Firefly Talk and The Signal. Those are probably the best things in the world:: what with keepin you up to date with the news round the 'verse and their "How to speak Chinese" section. I have to stop myself from calling my sister [i]mei mei[/i] since she's not a sci fi fan. I've got a shindig in the planning processes. 5 girls, orange chicken from Panda Express, strawberry ice cream, "Jaynestown", "Safe", and "Shindig". Anyone have any other good ideas? i'm open to them.

Not to toot my own horn, but ... I would just like to point out that everything I mentioned as a scheduling "issue" in my original log has now been rectified. I won't say I'm a scheduling genius, but - well, if I do will you all hold it against me? :biggrin: So starting this month, Supernatural will be after Smallville on Thursdays, Everwood will move back to Monday night (although this will bump Related, which probably doesn't have much of a chance for renewal) and Bones is back at 8pm on Wednesday, leaving Veronica Mars unobstructed at 9pm. As for the fate of Sydney and Alias, it is still somewhat of mystery. I think it's coming back some time in April, but I could be wrong. All I have to say is Alleluia to those programming folks in H-Wood. Now, all we have to do is get them to realize that Firefly: Season 2 belongs on Sci-Fi Fridays and we are looking at a utopian fantasy of great TV! Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming ...

so I got hero of Canton drunk last night while listening to Bedlam bards. It seemed appropiate but like Jayne I didn't weigh the consiquence and here I am at work unable to concentrate. Also I called my friends in another time zone at god knows what hour and probably pissed them off good. So I'm a giant dork and I wanted to share.
