Okay, so I finally saw Serenity the other night, and I absolutely loved it, except for one tiny little detail...THEY KILLED WASH FOR NO DAMN GOOD REASON!!! :disappointed: :pissed: I mean, I'm sorry, I don't see the point in killing him. It was dramatic enough at that point in the film and quite frankly my anger and disbelif distracted me from what was going on. Other than that, I thought it was excellent. I even understood when Book died. The old wise guy always gets it...look at Harry Potter. Anyways, I think it was pointless to kill Wash, even if it was a device to give River a place on Serenity. :bash: she already had one!!! All right, well I'm done now...hehe :biggrin: I'm off to rectify the situation, me the fixer of all sad endings *scribbling furiously...* :kiss: Titanic

Well, some of you might remember about two weeks back, when I moped about my best friend getting married and how I did not want to go to the wedding? The wedding was today, and of course I did go to it after all. Not to the actual ceremony, though, just to the get together they had after that. And I arrived rather late (on purpose), so that I would not have to spend too much time there. It was okay, though. I met many people I had not seen for quite a while (all of my friend's family, for example, as well as many common friends). He was really glad to see me there, I think (because I had told him beforehand that I would not come) and so was his wife. I did start crying after I had congratulated them, but I think no one noticed or if they did, they were tactful enough not to mention it, and I got myself back in check rather quickly. I am glad I did go there and feel a lot better for it, too. I had dreaded this day for quite some time. Sometimes you just have to confront your demons. On a lighter note: I went on a diet last Wednesday. Normally I am really not the dieting type, I never needed to be, either. But I have gained 12 pounds over the last six month or so, which I really hate. So I now decided to try to loose some of it again. I will only eat fresh salads and wholewheat bread for the next couple of weeks (along with fruits and eventually a yoghurt as snacks) plus homecooked soup on the weekends. I will try to keep this up until Easter (following the traditional Lent here, even though I am rather an agnostic person). I also started to work out some (jogging and training on the side-stepper).

Well. Not entirely certain what to post yet. I've heard a lot about Firefly over the past couple years and never quite got around to checking it out.. Bought the movie today and loved it.. Gonna run out and get the series tomorrow.. then perhaps I'll have something more intelligent to post. Kay

I was reading my Visual Guide to Serenity this morning, and I looked at Mal's final speech, about how love is the first rule of flying. If you don't love a boat, he tells River, it'll toss you off sure as the turning of worlds. Love will keep it in the air when it ought to fall. Man, what a great speech--it applies to so many things. Y'know, I realize I'm not the greatest musician around--I've got a few reviews to point that out--but I play with love for my music, so it all works out. And I really can't play a tune I don't love. It just won't stick. Like Mal say, it doesn't matter if you do all the math in the world. Love is what matters--passion, energy, not precision. They say that if something isn't hard, it's not worth doing. Well, it's love that allows you to do the things that are difficult. Earlier in the movie, Doctor Mathias says that Simon is mad, because of all the very difficult things he's done for River. The Operative replies that Simon's motivation is not madness, but love. Yet it's fascinating to me how often one looks a lot like the other. So the key to life is a passion so strong it looks like madness. That's what kept Firefly flyin' when it should have dropped off the radar. It's what keeps a bunch of us crazy Browncoats dreaming that we'll have sequels. It's what keeps me playing music no matter what anyone says.

Thank you all so much for the words of welcome. I don't normally do the fan thing so I wasn't sure what to expect. Posted my little blog entry yesterday and woke up to a small flock of responses this morning.. and you were all so NICE! I was a little nervous since i'm such a newbie that me suddenly appearing wouldn't be a good thing in your (the group's) eyes. Thank you all for making me feel welcome. *bounce* 5 more hours til i get get to the store and get series. One of the bad things about waking up early on the weekend... nothing is currently open.

Okay folks....I just have to whine for a few minutes:( I've spent a very long time working on the next chapter of my fanfic, Dream Sequence. It was almost done, as a matter of fact.....and I deleted it. Irretrievably. I had it saved as a draft on my email, so I could log in and work on it from home, work, or wherever, and I accidentally clicked the "disgard draft" button. Now, I wasn't entirely happy with the chapter, and I'd planned to do a good deal of editing, but there was still some good stuff in there that is now gone. I just spent some time starting the re-write, but it's really hard to get motivated when you know you already wrote something, and you said it better the first time. I'm not happy:(

This is my first entry here, so I will announce that I am writing some fan fiction. Tales from the Verse will be a series of short stories along with illustrations. There series is called "Salvaging Hope." and is based on a new crew, and a new ship. Everything takes place in Joss' Verse. The ship, Aurora, is an amphibious Salvage vessel. It is a custom ship and follows no known design. It was designed by the Captain, and his sister in their parents shipyard. More on Aurora, and the crew later.

Took stops at two different stores, one did not have it in stock (considers boycotting on principle but perhaps they had them and it was just so popular it sold out) NOW to see how many episodes i can fit in before i have to go to sleep to get up for work tomorrow!!!

I have bin readin some fan fiction and i got interested in the idea of there being other experiments before River. For example one theory about the HoBs is that they were semi failed experiments. It occured to me with all the meddeling with the brain whos to say genetics werent changed? (tis possible, didnt just make that up) Whos to say it cant be inherited? Whos to say the Acadamy didn think of it. Interesting, no? Let me know wot u think and i will see bout sum fan fiction I would take it as a kindness that no one takes advantage of my idea

Ok. Question first. Is there anyway that i can respond to comments people make to my log entries.. w/o making another log entry? Next. I am on the first episode. not completely finished.. Mal and Zoe and Jayne are battling it out with Patience and her bunch. I think i am going to need to track down an episode guide and some sort of.. how the movie and the series sync because i'm confused about a few things.
