Hey, people. As deadlines often limit procrastination the way they do, I feel my care-free, and possibly more importantly, my relatively low intensity concentration time slowly but surely draining away like tepid, filthy water after a long, soothing bath. Oh, that sinking feeling, nowhere to go. I'm not bragging here, but just for the sake of saying something without complaining, I did a good deed for the day by picking up a garbage bag in the middle of a parking lot and threw it into a nearby dumpster. But its time to quit watching football, time to put the guitar away, time to quit blogging, to quit watching buffy or firefly. It's time to drink two pots of coffee tonight, furiously typing out the rest of this semester's labors, and finally spend tomorrow in a stupor, or haze, whichever you, dear reader, are most comfortable with, until I get back to my room at around four thirty in the p.m. when I will collapse gratefully in the womb-like comfort of the pillows and blankets on my crickety futon. I'll dream of space, distant planets, and laterally drifting clouds on unexplored quadrants of titan. Like the man says, don't save anything for the swim back.

You know what I hate ? ( Yeah, I'm sure you do too )

This really hit me again when I'm watching S-5 of Buffy, on the commentary version of Fool for Love. The writer mentions something about the mythology of the Vamp/Slayer story, which has a fair bit to do with the purpose of the show in the 1st place. But that's not what I hate. What DOES bother me though is when folks say stuff like " It's only a t.v. show...why does any of that other, made up stuff even matter ? " It matters ( to me ) because it adds so much more depth to the story. It matters because it makes the characters more than just people acting out things , but puts them in a context of an even bigger story ( yes, I know....made up ) which occur before their time and will carry on after they're gone. The characters , like all of us, are merely blips on a really damn long time line. So seldom do we think of ourselves in that manner. We're all about what's good for us NOW. What can we see, do , NOW, and what does something across the world or across the Cosmos have to do with ME? Ok, so I got a tad too deep there toward the end. But if for nothing else, a well designed past in such a story as Buffy/Angel/Firefly, etc... makes it all the more interesting for the viewer. If you take the time to watch a t.v. show, why is it so odd that you'd find the backstory any less compelling than the story you're already watching? Some folks don't even bother w/ watching the commentary on their dvds. Which is fine, I get that. Sometimes those things can be a real bore. I grew to like most commentaries though, after having watched the movie/show . I like hearing how writers/actors or whom ever felt about doing a certain character, or how they wanted to try something else, etc... But to say it's JUST a show..... man, that irks me!

All Apologies

No, I haven't been ignoring Blue Moon. I've just had a lot else to work on. I hope to have "Free at Last" wrapped up by the end of this week, and the come back with Ep. 6 in the New Year (December will be taken up with bolstering my other badly neglected fanfic series, CodeLyoko.com's Change of Heart).

Day one of five - bored already
Monday, 04 December 2006 16:16:19

**A quick note: I'm off work all week this week, so in order to try and preserve what sanity I may have left, I'm doing a blog for each and every day. To pass the time. Is this sad?? Yes. But still, here goes: ---------- Ok, so today is the first day of my week's holiday, and I'm pleased to announce that I'm already bored out my skull. Hence me writing this blog. Due to my excessive boredom, I'll probably go flying off on many a tangent, so bear with me :-) So what did I do on the weekend I hear you ask?? No, you didn't?? Well, I'm gonna tell y'all anyways. Saturday was awesome. We put the Christmas decs up in the morning after the weekly shop, and I was entrusted to do the entire tree. Unsupervised. A wise idea?? Probably not, but it turned out quite well, so I'm very pleased with myself! Of course, it didn't all go smooth (it NEVER goes smooth)... My mama was a bit emotional (as she always is during Christmastime), and my dad was a bit stressy. So there were a few lil' spats :-( All turned out ok, tho, you'll all be please to know. Then I went round Jezzy Jez's to try and fix his computer. Yeah, didn't go so well. I guess I'm not a techy genius.... Sunday was a lazy day (as always), so that meant one thing - lots of me, locked up in my room, on the cortex. Sorry, internet. Always do get those two confused. Anyhoo, much fun was had by all. Well, me really, but still... Then I went round Scotty's to watch the NFL, and low and behold, my beloved Texans were on! And despite a hella ugly game, we won! WOO!!! Ahem, sorry bout that, but yeah, happiness prevailed! So on to today. Firstly, if you're still reading this, surely you got something better to do?? No?? Well, today, I walked home, watched four - count 'em - four episodes on Firefly, then stright onto the BDM. And now boredom on MySpace. Still, tomorrow is Christmas shopping day, so that'll be some fun :-D Catch y'all later, and remember to keep flyin'!

No power in the 'Verse could make me blog....

or so I thought. But I guess Firefly could do it if anything could..... To kick off, a little music video I whipped up in praise of this shitty little show with awful characters, worse writing and a fan-hating producer......

Return from the Black

Wow. Last time I was here must've been purd'near three years ago! I looked at my registration date, an' today's date. Well, here's how it is: 1) I am still a major Firefly flan. 2) I still blame the Fox Network and the general downfall of civilization on the fact that Firefly was cancelled. :finger: 4) I'm still more 'an willin' to identify meself as a Firefly flan despite persecution from family and friends. D) I am so jealous of a person I just met who's off to schmooze with all the cast this coming Thursday :disappointed: 3) I don't know how to count. Anywho, now that I know more 'bout this whole BBS & blog thingy (high falutin' tech crap) perhaps I might wander 'round a bit.
