An Open Letter on the Election
Thursday, 04 November 2004 01:26:42

Democrats: Your guy didn't win. But it was close! You should be pleased that it was so close. And did you see the numbers? We all got out and voted in the highest voter turn out since I was born in '82, and, really, it was one of the highest voter turnouts in our nation's history! Things look kinda down right now, given the Republican majority in most of the fedeal levels of the government right now. But keep your chin up. It's not over. You've still got a voice. Keep in touch with your representatives and senators. Support bipartisan endeavors and cooperation. Republicans: Congratulations on an electoral and popular victory this time around. Of course we can all be thankful for the swiftness of the resolution of this election. You've got a majority in Congress as well. Now, it's up to you to be responsible with your majority. Work with the Democrats. They aren't your enemies. They just have a different point of view. Also, remember that all this can change in the space of two or another four years. Everyone else: Good job on getting out there and voting. Even in my little state of North Carolina, and my little county, there were a lot of Libertarians on the ballot! Even if you can't vote for your party, you voted for who you thought was best. And it's not over for you guys either. It's still important to be politically active. Kids what can't vote yet: Don't be afraid. There aren't going to be any drafts. That's a vile, vicious rumor spread about to scare you into supporting non-Bush. No one wants a draft. A draft is bad for re-election. It's immoral and unpopular. So relax and register the MOMENT you turn 18. Have your voice heard. Non-voters: What, were you guys asleep? All three of you? Every-ruttin'-body else voted, where were you?! I better not hear you complain. If you can't bother with putting your one voice out there, you've got no complaining rights. Slackers.

I'm a bit crazy, and that's OK

It's about 1AM right now, and I feel like posting a blog, because my other blogs were getting lonely. I've been awake now for about 40 hours straight now, thanks to a rough bout of insomnia, and the helpfulness of a high-power computer system equipped with many many online games and a super-fast internet connection. (Fractional T3 with a T1 backup, makes it about 13MB/s) I've tried 'sleep-aids', I've tried... other things... nothing seems to work, and I have no option but to get back into Counter-Strike: Source and pwn a bunch of n00bz until I fall into unconsiousness. (For those who don't speek l337, pwn=kill n00bz=new players) I can't really see my hands typing... everything seems like the refresh rate is off by just so much... I feel my head turn, but I don't see what is to the left of me quite as quickly as I should. Have you ever gotten so tired that you aren't tired, but wired? Yet not wired like with caffiene, but wired and just as equally sluggish? I could totally roxor anyone at Counter-Strike right now, but if somebody asked me to count to a thousand, I'd say 1, 2, 3, then forget that they existed and play some Counter-Strike. Maybe some Jolt will help me. ... It's been about 30 minutes since I wrote "Maybe some Jolt will help me", and after consuming a bottle of Electric Blue Jolt, the only difference I notice is the fact that my hands are shaking more than they were an hour ago, and I'm having more trouble typing. I've had to use backspace at least 10 times for each sentence in this paragraph. Right there too. Even there. And on that one, I actually tapped the backspace three more times than I meant to and had to retype what I originally typed correctly, even though that time I typed it incorrectly, and had to retype it. I'm going to try to sleep. If that doesn't work, please send any donations to the "CB REALLY REALLY NEEDS SLEEP" foundation, located... well, I'm sure it's somewhere, but it's kinda like the counting thing. 1, 2, 3 ...counter-strikeismyuniverseandnothingshallpullmefromit. All proceeds will go to the ever-increasing supply of Ambien that I have. And some of it will go to pizza. Cause if the ambien doesn't work, I'm gonna need pizza. And Jolt. Cause if I'm not sleeping, I sure as heck want to be as awake as I can be. Here's to hoping that the next few hours are spent in blissful unconsiousness. Till then, I bid you adeu. CB P.S. really, if you want to give me money to buy ambien, pizza, and jolt, you can. P.P.S. I just put this here because it says P.P.

Still Crazy, Still OK

7:08AM now. Coming up on 48 hours of wakefulness, and I don't even know if that's a word. My head is twitching to the side every now and then, and my eyes are stuck open, and I'm really cold. Even the stupid keyboard keys are freezing against my fingertips. St00pid keys. I watched a movie, Coyote Ugly, and then went to bed, hoping to fall into peaceful dreams of... well, you get the idea. No dice though, I just can't fall asleep. I realize it's only been 2 days, and I've gone for as long as 5 without sleep, but I'm starting to wig out. I'm hearing footsteps upstairs, which, though there are actually people upstairs, they wouldn't be walking around at this hour. My neck feels like it always needs to be cracked, and yet I can't quite wrench it far enough either way to make it crack. Grrr. Did I mention I'm cold? It feels like there are little drafts of cold air going right over my fingers and the back of my neck. I realize that this probably is the most irrelavent blog ever, describing how I've gone without sleep due to insomnia, but I can't seem to stop myself from writing on. Damned cold keys. I've got music in my head now, Tool. At least it's not something repeditive... oh wait... Being a Counter-Strike server admin is fun. I make the gravity 200, then wait until somebody complains about the gravity, then I wait until they jump, then I change the gravity to 99999. Serves them right. If I'm still awake later on, and cogniscent enough to write a blog, I will. To those of you who don't really want to know just what the human body and mind go through as sleeplessness progresses, just skip my blogs for the next few days, since that's mostly what they will consist of. There it goes again, my head twitching to the left. Signed, CB: Slightly more insane, but not as shaky, than I was a few hours ago. Cold though... damned keys.
