The Trio (The Nerds)
Saturday, 30 September 2006 06:12:08

I brought up this subject matter on another board not too long ago and I thought I would share my thoughts on it here with some adjustments. Those three nerds that were giving Buffy and the scoobies grief on BtVS were actually some pretty good characters. Good characters to the point where I seriously believe that some of the stories with them could have carried BtVS straight into season 9. These characters were used as a wasted resource by the writers. These characters could have added new dimensions to the show. What really bothers me about Warren and the other nerds is the fact that they were brilliant, brilliant to the point where they could have made a large amount of money with their inventions that they could have been rich beyond their dreams. Also, if they wanted a taste of fighting the big bad, they could have offered their services to Buffy and the Scoobies. Buffy would have never had to worry about money, so there would have been no stupid Double Meat Palace episodes. Between Buffy and the Scoobies and tech support from the nerds, Buffy and her group would have been a serious force to be reckoned with more so than the team that Buffy had in the show. Two Slayers, two powerful Witches, Two Vampires with a soul, a Vengeance Demon, and Tech Nerds with clever inventions, spells, and money...Buffy's group could have dealt some serious damage, and Tara would still be alive. Matter of fact with this group, the whole deal with Glory and the key would have been easier to deal with. With the Nerds, Buffy might not have had to sacrifice herself in the episode called "The Gift." But no, the writers saw fit to making the nerds idiots, and then having Warren shoot Buffy, killing Tara and putting an end to any real use of these talented guys in which they could have placed a tech-spin in the Buffyverse benefiting our heroes in a positive way. Come on, I personally think an invisible Slayer would have make a smash hit in the demon world. Or a Slayer wielding a freeze gun??? Buffy would have seriously kicked some royal ass with these technologies. Wasted talent and resources don't you just hate that? -River

the things we do for the things we want

ok, so yesterday (29th September) wasn't the greatest day ever. There were pretty much two small highlights in an other wise crappy day (and when one of those events was buying a poster, you can see it stank). I wanted to change one of my modules for university. I was supposed to be doing Religion in politics and society in Britain 800-1066 but this new module came up on the Jarrow Crusade; which looked really cool, so i decided to switch. I went to uni as early as i could so i wouldn't have to wait long and instead i spent TWO hours standing in a corridor in the school of historical studies. I did get onto the module which was cool but i was dead on my feet by the time i left. Ok, so onto the poster, the second highlight of my day. I actually found a Serenity poster in HMV, which was cool. I also bought Scrubs season 4 too. That is where my good day ended. I got the X27 bus home; which is supposed to go to Wheatley Hill, but instead went straight from Shotton to Wingate. I don't care if he asked everyone if they wanted to go to Wheatley Hill (which i didn't hear) he should have gone there anyway because it is on the route! I had to stand in Wingate for nearly an hour to get the 214 to Peterlee to get the 213 home because Arriva has stopped the 3:20 22 between Hartlepool and Durham. That is the end of my rant. Dumped...
Saturday, 30 September 2006 10:27:01

Well, thats over.. Been dating this girl for about two months now and last night we had a talk and she told me she didnt feel the same way about me as I do about her. We talked things over though and were still very good friends, wich is good. But it would have been nice to have something more again... Sometimes things just dont work out as we want them to. And it was great to be in love again, if only for a while. Guess ill have to go back to the whole lonely thing now, atleast untill I find someone else.. Ill bounce back, always do. Always will.

Homecoming Dance
Saturday, 30 September 2006 18:57:05

Our Homecoming dance is in two hours. Yesterday was the game, which we lost :disappointed: but I really don't care about football that much, I just went to see my friends from the other school. I'm going to wear a black/emerald green dress and a black chain choker with jewels on it. We're driving my three best friends there, and we're going to have sparkling cider. And of course, my parents are going to take many unnessecary pictures. As much fun as this is going to be, I'm probably going to spend a portion of the night feeling depressed, since a week ago my boyfriend told me he didn't want to go to Homecoming with me. Then he dumped me. So I suspect that during the dance I'll be having flashbacks of our best moments together that I'm just trying to forget.

NASA Goodness
Saturday, 30 September 2006 19:20:28

My friend from space camp has this video in some NASA contest and the prize is a free trip to NASA to watch the shuttle launch as a V.I.P. Anyway, she really really wants it and she really is the biggest NASA geek ever (that's a good thing). So if you are bored, head to the website

Long Time
Saturday, 30 September 2006 19:43:21

No post. I have not posted here in quite some time. I've read the odd blog, and seen many an image (MPhilips has done spectacular sketches). I've seen quite a few people open up on blogs here. It's different, but not in a bad way. Anyways, I may start posting again, depending. Icarus out.

New TV station to try to get Firefly on.
Saturday, 30 September 2006 22:48:40

I already posted a thread in the forum about this but a new TV station has started called The CW. They have a few good shows like "Smallville" on but mostly reruns. They also brought back "Seventh Heaven" for those who care. I only bring that up to show that there is hope for "Firefly." Hey, who has the rights to "Firefly." Does Fox have them still or did Joss Whedon or someone else get a hold of them. That is important information to have on bringing the show back. This is my quest, join me.
