I just found out that one of the TA's for my animal bio class is a browncoat :) We were working in the computer lab today, using excel to analyze the data for this god awful fish experiment we've been doing all term, and she was helping me out with some of the calculations on my laptop. When I started closing everthing up, she noticed my serenity wallpaper. We got into this long conversation about the fabulousness of all things Joss, it was fun.I just though that was cool. Also, on a completely different note, I have only 2 weeks left in this term, then the freedom of winter break. And you all know what that means: Non-stop FF and Serenity for 2 and a half weeks. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Mine is an evil laugh!

Move over Harry Poser or Will the real Mage please stand up.

24 Hour Update

Well, I finally handed in my two things. I feel more exhausted than relieved. And the gal I asked out for coffee for after Xmas, she said yes to the coffee. But no to the implication. Turns out, she already has a boyfriend. To tell you the truth, I wasn't really surprised by the response. I find that a lot of women I'm attracted to in my classes tend to have boyfriends already. Whether or not this is actually true, I leave unanswered. And even though I've been cruising around lavalife and thinking about writing them a check to expand my membership, I've been thinking about just throwing in the towel over the whole dating thing. School hasn't actually been a really good place to find women for me. I think the idea of picking someone up at the bar is an obsolete ideal, since everyone seems to go to the bar for everything EXCEPT finding someone. I tried internet dating, but the only gals who accept my e-mails for invites normally weigh twice as much as me. Every successive date I've had has slimmed down a bit, but their weight still digs into my belt buckle when we watch something on tv. And the last one was a suicidal divorcee, so she was really cheery. I know this sounds sexist, but come one. Wouldn't you like to go ot with someone whose at least fit and doesn't run the risk of crushing you when you're on the couch watching something? I hear about how often you find the right person when you're not looking, but I'm always unclear about it. Do you just say "I am no longer looking for someone." and just do nothing? I think by stating the above, you ruin your chances since your "not looking" is actually looking in a way. And if you do truly just give up and just focus on other things in your life, don't you run the risk of being some loser who spends his life in front of a computer or a tv screen? I spent my summer filming people declaring their love for one another. Everywhere I go, I see classmates who are happy couples and shit like that. For once, I'd like to experience that. Not just for sex, I've done that already, but for intimacy and for closeness. I'm tired of watching. I want to experience it for real. I know I sound like a whiny bitch, but is it too much to ask?

Hello
Wednesday, 30 November 2005 05:30:33

Hi! Just a brief introduction. I've been a fan of Firefly since it first appeared on the network that shall not be named. I drifted away during its "hiatus," but returned in full gear (metaphorically speaking) when I heard about the movie. Been watching the reruns on SciFi here in Kentucky, and saw the BDM twice before it left the local theater. Both the Series and Movie DVD's are now on my Christmas list! I found this site a couple of months back, and have been lurking around ever since. I've read quite a bit of the FanFic--awesome stuff everyone!--and have been inspired to try my hand. Someday soon I hope to post something, just want to tweak it a bit more, and have somebody beta it for me. That about covers it for today. Talk at you again later. "I love my captain."

Serenity 2

Well its the week after the week after the con, and what a con it was. Doesn't seem to match up to Fusion but that was one of a kind  I felt like i knew so many people and that to me, makes the con. None of this meeting the guests malarky hehehe - although getting lush pics with Nathan, Sean and Jonathan helps (thanx to the brilliant photographer for making me look half decent!) Had the best time, kept seeing people i knew all over the place, that you never meet outside of a con. Roll on NFA

Dino wrangling
Wednesday, 30 November 2005 21:46:10

I spend most of today herding small dinosaurs around, got told of by the Keeper of the Museum for dropping one and hurting it. I felt bad. since arriving home i've 'et almost my own body weight in choclate crispy cakes, and re-written my c.v. Its all true, but boy can I make it sound as though the sun shines out of mine. I may post it one day as a shining example of 'based on a true story'fantasy
