Cast of

Hey everyone! I hope I'm fulfilling my duties as a newcomer here and have located the cast of "Serenity", our long awaited, beloved Firefly movie. I was a bit worried at first because I didn't see the guy who played Book in the trailer, but he's on the cast list (thank god that they have the original cast!). The site is

May 5th and Elitists
Friday, 29 April 2005 05:42:00

So, very awesome that the pre-showing tickets sold out in a day. Sucks that they sold out in a day because I didn't get to talk to my best friend until after they were sold out, meaning, we don't get to go. Alas, we'll have to be patient, unless someone has two extra tickets for Roseville...ha. If you did, I think I'd marry you. Of course, post-trailer, I'm now debating if I should make the River-as-Ninja-Techie-of-Death-in-Bar outfit, or the outfit from Safe. Oh well. Whichever is easier, I guess... Now, I often complain of elitists, and my other best friend just got into Firefly recently and was all "After the movie though, it's going to be scary with all the new fans. You obviously get more bragging right than me, but I still get some" and it's all "Um...wtf?! Fans are GOOD, more chance to get show back on the air.." and it just irks me, because, I love her dearly, but life isn't a contest for who has been a fan longer, we should just enjoy what we enjoy, and to hell with those who claim they are better since they've liked it longer... ~Lexi

Finals Week
Friday, 29 April 2005 15:17:37

I hate finals week. I wish I could put it more eloquently, but there it is. The bright side of finals week is that once it is over, I am free. I think I am going to go see "Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy" this weekend. I've never read the book, but I am a big sci-fi junkie (hence my membership to this here website). Anyway, this blog may have been rather pointless, but I needed a break from the mindless monotony of data entry. We got a new computer system at work and it is such a pain in the ass.

And the degree is mine
Friday, 29 April 2005 17:30:19

Just check my unofficial grades (they become official when the senate approves them), and I've passed them all! And that seals it. I now have the equivalent of a 3-yr degree in math. Whether I continue on depends on my physical location after the summer which isn't really determined at the moment (and that's an understatement). I could actually make a case to get into grad. school right now (I already have a diploma in computer programming), but I'd rather go into math or physics rather than computer science. This I might do though as I'm getting to old. We'll see what the future brings. Knock on wood ;)

Thank you all for not being like the dim-witted, slow-thinking Moes over at IMDb
Friday, 29 April 2005 20:47:13

Two blogs in two days! Party in my eye socket and everyone's invited! I just came to another realization - you guys are smart! And praise be for it. Now, I like to think of myself as a relatively bright individual (despite my hilariously low ACT score - and the fact that I'm friends with a guy that scored 34), and I enjoy in participating in conversations with like-minded people. I'll engage in conversation with most anyone, but I prefer that they're not, as I stated in my blog title, "dim-witted, slow-thinking Moes." That's why I have trouble with the message boards anywhere else, most noticeably the Internet Movie Database (imdb.com). A great resource for information, trivia and other minutae (sp?). An absolutely horrid community for those searching for thought-provoking and civilised communication. Proven, at least in my own mind, by the fact that my posts are rarely answered by anyone other than the incoherent Internet-speak trolls (OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG! U ppl suk! Woot!) and the flame-baiting anti-anything I like trolls. However, as I'm apparently a glutton for punishment, I continue my quest for meaningful dialogue with other fans of popular television and movies at IMDb, and I'm continously met with the same result. I'm eternally grateful for FFF.net. This community has provided me great joy during my seemingly endless hours at my nothing-to-do job. Just wanted to say "Thanks." I promise my next entry will be more meaningful.

Sounds in Space
Friday, 29 April 2005 22:17:00

I hope everyone who is a Firefly fan will know that there is no sound in space. Also note that in the Firefly series, there was no sound in space, so I'm just wondering (hypothetically, mind you), what are all those gun blasts and engine sounds doing there? Hope someone can answer me here.
