I actually hate Easter. I'm not trying to offend anyone here, but its my least favorite holiday. I saw a chocolate cross in the store and I was like...ew. Don't they know that "cross" is latin for torture? Chocolate torture? Actually, the thought does bring up a few kinky alternatives...but enough of that. I guess, it's appropriate I should be spending Easter doing my least favorite thing: writing a paper. This one is giving me a real hard time, too. Its about empowering populations at-risk. Not that you really care. Anyway,that is why I took a little break to write in my blog. I had a lovely Spring Break, by the way. I got to see my family and hang out with all my friends back home. Oh, and I watched this awesome movie. It was called Equillibrium (I think I spelled it right). It had Christian Bale, Sean Bean, and Taye Diggs. If you haven't seen it, check it out. If you hate it, well...its not like I promised you anything. Okay, I'm going to stop writing now, because I really do need to finish my paper. Oh, one more thing. I got Resident Evil 4 for my birthday. The graphics are really cool and you know how I love to blow the heads off of things.

I kid you not, that's her name. When we adopted her, that was what was on the papers. The other thing was that the paperwork also stated that she was neutered. Our male dog knew otherwise. We noticed that she'd gone into heat, we were told that this sometimes happens after being neutered. Then they "hooked up." I called county animal control again. Turns out that she was overlooked on the day she was supposed to get her operation. She's fixed now, curtesy of the county. Boy, is our male dog depressed.

Yeah, me too, but that's a bit unrealistic isn't it? Even Dr Crane gave up after a mere 500 odd episodes. But 696 is the number of episodes of Doctor Who there were. Last Saturday, it became 697. The longest running sci-fi show in the world got back up after a little break and the key word is running. This was a fast paced episode, faster than any previous episode of Who (possibly barring some of Douglas Adams' contributions). The plot was fairly slight, this was about introducing us to Rose and The Doctor. Russell T Davies, the man behind this revival, has said he's a big fan of Buffy and you can tell, from the pacing, the mixture of horror and comedy (which Who always did have but not to the same extent). But this is primarily a revival of a British institution which means the odd creaking corner and less than convincing special effect but nonetheless we love it. In fact, over 11m caught it over the weekend, not counting those who watched it on tape. This has been a big hit and successful sci-fi begets more successful sci-fi. It's also very strange how many people I know have asked me about the revival. I was a big childhood fan of the show and now I have lots of friends asking about it, telling me how much they enjoyed watching it on Saturday and I'm even having to do a copy of the episode for someone who missed it. Makes me feel like I'm 10 years old again, but in a good way.
