I got called to task quite sternly yesterday for some of my writing content. By this point, those of you who have been following my fics know better than to expect roses and sunshine out of me. Not that I am some nihilistic sadist here, I just like to explore the darker side of the 'Verse, and push these characters a little further. However, when I posted "A River Taken", it was only my second fic posting, and no one really knew what to expect. I felt that I had warned sufficiently, and avoided any terribly graphic depictions (certainly nothing like Jayne's enraged explosion towards the end of "The Final Cut"). However, as it was pointed out, I didn't give this person enough warning. I have no intentions of changing my writing style, or the subject matter within it. I will make my warnings more explicit in the future. The first thing I want to say to the individual involved is "I'm Sorry." The second thing is this: the last thing I really want to have is bad feelings and a pissing match with anyone out here. To me, that just isn't the Browncoat way.

No, this isn't a report on my love life (I wish).... No, it's to report that I've made a new recruit to the Brownocat ranks. Well, not me actually, but the shiny FF boxset and the BDM. Was mentioning a few weeks backs about how great a show Firefly is and got a friend intrigued enough to want to watch disc 1 of the boxset. He liked it, borrowed disc 3 (on my recommendation to see OoG and WS) and that did it for him big time. Then I see him today and he tells me he saw the BDM and totally LOVED it. Then he re-borrowed disc 3 of FF to show some of his family members who also loved the BDM. I'll have 'em all bedecked in brown in no time...

Well, it's the day after the funeral for my grandmother and I think I took it quite well. Only a little sobbing, just a bit. >.> Had enough hugs to last me a lifetime. My ribs still hurt. Seen a lot of people I haven't seen in so very long. Good to see such smiling faces with all the kind words. My family seems to be taking it all quite well. Even though it was very sudden I think we'll get through this one. Thank you to everyone here for all the words of encouragement and all the backing. What a shiny bunch of Browncoats y'all are. Think I'll start getting back 'round this place. Hugs and love to all of you!
