The Firefly Apostle
Wednesday, 23 November 2005 01:02:49

Hubby and I are watching Gonzaga playing at the Maui Invitational. Go Zags! (It's half time.) He looks up and sees my Firefly DVDs and says, "Oh, I need to take those in for John(?). Oh, and Jim(?) says he wants to see them too. I've become your Firefly Apostle." Boooo. He then says John is going to try to burn his own, to which I say (jokingly-think lofty, snotty voice), "I don't condone piracy." He gives me a look (you know the kind). So, I say, "Tell him if he likes them he can at least buy them. No, tell him he can at least buy Serenity." Hubby says John hasn't seen Serenity. Then he says "it's a really good movie." What???!!! I think hubby is coming around.

Ok so I was watching Full Metal Jacket last nite
Wednesday, 23 November 2005 02:28:02

I have seen this movie about 8 or 9 times in my relatively short 20 years and last night I picked up something I hadn't picked up on. OMG Adam Baldwin is in it and he hasn't realy changed at all (this movie was made in the mid-eighties) I almost dropped my popcorn I squealed so loud. Did the whole 'verses know this and not me or are there other ignorant ones out there?

How I Knew it Was Time to Go to Bed

I was watching War Stories last night and I decided to switch on the commentary because Alan is SO FUNNY in that one. I pick up my DVD remote and start pressing buttons, but nothing happens. I bang on it (why do we do this? It accomplishes nothing, yet anytime a remote or flashlight or something stops working, we bang on it. Crazy.) and of course it doesn't work. I hit the power button and then the DVD player turns on and I realize I'm not watching my DVD, I'm watching the Firefly marathon on SciFi!! Silly me.

Hope for Firefly's Future
Wednesday, 23 November 2005 15:07:17

I have hope that there will be good things happening for Firefly's future. I have this belief that Firefly will be back on the air soon and filming new episodes. It just seems incomplete to leave it where it left off with the show and the great plot with the movie. I was estatic about the movie and how Joss hadn't lost his touch of fantasy and humor. Firefly was one of the better shows that was on TV at the time. Now all they have is reality shows that push people to the limit of their emotions. It's sick how most people can only be entertained by someone elses pain. It really :pissed: pisses me off. Other than that I still have hope for Firefly.

Unexpected story twist.

I've been having a little trouble with writer's block, thanks to the music from a recently seen movie flooding my brain. This morning I sat down and was finally able to produce something worth keeping. Then my mom called and, while I was on the phone, my daughter added her own bit to my story. That, of course, degenerated into my typing while both kids zoomed around the room, loudly dictating their own versions of the story at the same time. Here is our combined work. (The alliterations are mine, not the kids.) “Kaylee!” Inara grabbed the napkin from the food tray and pressed it against Kaylee’s head. “Let’s get you down to the infirmary and have Simon take a look at this.” “Simon’s with the Cap’n.” Then comes Super Grace who will help Kaylee! Inara jumped for joy.” You came!” Inara yelled. ”Make her all better,” Inara said. Then Super Samuel scooped Kaylee up and zoomed to the infirmary. “Surgery, surgery!!!” He yelled. Super Grace, peeved that her pesky partner plucked the concussed Kaylee from under her very nose, follows after Super Samuel yelling, “Hey, gimme Kaylee! It’s my turn to be the super hero!” “Surgery! Surgery!” yells Super Samuel. “Off with her head!!” “Are you crazy?! What kind of super hero are you, anyway!!??”

Your thoughts on Wash
Wednesday, 23 November 2005 19:22:07

I'm looking for insight. From You. After Malcolm Reynolds, Book is my favorite caracter. It's been said that Book may be based on St.Patrick who never spoke of his guilty consience about his crime(s) when he became a priest. Now that's a story I can dig my teeth into. But Wash? What do you see in Wash? Now consider that I'm trying to be civil and as considerate as possible: All I want is to see through your eyes. Plus I'm getting off my high horse, if that will help some. Just tell me what you see when you look at Hoban 'Wash' Washbourne ...

I really, really, want the DVD!
Wednesday, 23 November 2005 19:56:29

See, when the BDM was is theaters, I only got to see it once. I know, I know...what kind of Browncoat am I? And I also lent my season DVDS to friends, so now, I am bereaved. I have no Firefly, no Serenity till 27 days from now, and no soundtracks. How am I to survive? So I'm reading this one thread about a special viewing of a gag reel at some con or another that I couldn't go to and how it might not make it out onto the DVD. What?! That's not fair. *pouts and stomps around a bit.* But hopefully, it will, cuz gag reels are absolutely hysterically hilarious.
