I thought this was funny. While trying to come up with ways of getting one of my friends to get Firefly, I figured out how to trick someone into putting movies into their Netflix Queue. Not exactly the most effective guerrilla warfare tactic (they can just take it right back out) but I still thought it was pretty cool that I could make people order Firefly. Like the title says, it's been rocking. Got an awesome paying job out of nowhere (I put my resume and application in over 8 months ago), and it's within walking distance from my house....and apparently, the manager is a Firefly fan. Oh, and I got into the Uni course I wanted...barely, and I didn't think I would, but I just scraped in by .95 of a point. So. I have a brand spanking new job, and I'm going to Uni. The only bad part has been the 2 hour trek by train into Sydney for my induction, and the inch long gash that required a few stitches I have on my left hip. Oh well, them be the breaks. It's funny, I spend $340 doing my RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) and RCG (Responsible Conduct of Gambling) and a 4 day bartending course so's I can work part time at a local pub, and I end up not needing it 'cause I got a job at an electronics store. My week rocked, I hope you have one soon too.

So, due to a hail storm a while back, the roof on my house needs repairing, and we figured we'd put gutter guards up to keep leaves and junk out of the gutters, so my father doesn't have to climb up on the very dangerous roof to clean them. Anyway, we have workers here who don't speak english fixing our roof. *sigh* It's very difficult for anyone to communicate with them, when they don't speak english. They backed their truck up near the house (to collect all the debris from the roof, which is all good) but they left the truck running, which left carbon mioxide into the house, through the garage. Even with the door closed, it started to come into the house. So, my grandmother, being the wonderful woman that she is, goes out and tries to tell them to turn the engine off. The guy says, "don't speak english". *sigh* so she takes his arm, and motions for him to turn the engine off...after about 5 minutes. He gets it. Now, i'm all for people finding work and such. I just find it frustrating when you're in a situation like that and you can't communicate. If I go to another country, i'm going to make sure i know at least some basic phrases or something. My mother can speak french, so I could go to France and have her translate. I want to go to another country. It would be so cool!

Hello everyone! I've just become a browncoat. :blush: I hope to meet as many others as I can. :biggrin: My favorite character is Zoe, because I'm a strong black woman and it's a very rare day when I come across another one. I think she's amazing and I love her relationship with Mal. Their mutal respect is so deep, so well portrayed. I just wrote a fanfic about it, and as soon as I finish editing it and posting it, please tell me what you think! Oh, and Firefly/Serenity would be nothing without Mal and Jayne.
