I slept in on May Day for the first time in over 15 years. Slept in being a relative term. I woke up at 6am. Man that felt good.

I felt a lump in my throat this week when watching the news footage of James Doohans’ (‘Scotty’) ashes being shot up into space on a rocket (launched from the desert in New Mexico) as he requested. I don’t subscribe to the school of thought that says that if you like ‘this’ show you can’t also like ‘that’ one. The original Star Trek was the first SciFi show that I ever liked, years back when I was in high school I would rush home after school so that I wouldn’t miss my favourite TV show with a handsome Canadian actor playing the captain of a space ship…(sound familiar??) Perfect that a few years later I met and married a lifelong Trekkie (and from Canada too…). I should say here that Star Trek didn’t have anywhere near the same effect on me that Firefly did/does. I will be cremated after I die and I think I would like my ashes to be spread half - somewhere in the beautiful Rocky Mountains and, the other half - out over the Pacific Ocean off the east coast of Australia. P.S. My favourite SciFi movie after Serenity is Starman starring Jeff Bridges (plus that guy who was in Drive – Charles Martin Smith) after that comes the Star Trek movies, then Pitch Black & Riddick. R.I.P. James Doohan - I hope the Final Frontier is all you hoped it would be. Art.

... but I actually found something chocolatey that I don't like (except fruit and nut but that's only because I don't like dried fruit). Marks and Spencer's chocolate brownies are disgusting. Never eating them again.
