I did indeed have a good day. Went to Joplin in search of comics... they were all sold out, but Nathan ( the comic guy) promised to call me when they are in. He's a Firefly fan too, is waiting for comics himself! I thought "Nathan" was good karma too, :) I have made a decision to redo my bedroom and office with Chinese and Japanese prints, hangings, etc. respectively. To get started today I found a wooden flat dish with Chinese characters ( wish I knew what they said!) and a lamp and I have to go tomorrow to a store downtown that has a wall hanging I want. I also found a great leather and chain necklace.... made of brown leather and chinese characters on... I think they are coins. I love it!! Had lunch with my daughter, we discussed Serenity and how much we love the movie and the show. She is a slightly less obsessed fan than me, but I had a blast talking about it with her. She likes Jayne and his hat. :) My Mom called from Cali and said she and my other daughter had found me a "surprise" in Cali while shopping.... woo hoo, I'm sure it's Firefly related, they all know how much I'm into this stuff. I'll get it Sunday... can't wait! And also I'm looking forward to my Mom being home, I miss her. I hope it's me next time who gets to go visit... I miss my oldest daughter. Well... on that note I'll end this good day and hope that tomorrow is just as good! Hey, I got the new "People: Sexiest Man Alive" magazine... how come Cap'n Tightpants isn't on the cover of that thing?!! He's not even inside of it... how could they do such a thing?!

Hello everyone, Besides the typical newspaper reviews, I have been unsuccessful in getting a personal opinion on the new Potter movie. Am planning on taking my two boys to see the movie on sunday. As they are only eight and seven and the movie got a pg 13 rating, I was hoping to get an idea on how it was. Both of my boys and I have read the book, and they still think girls are icky so I'm not to worried about that part. But was just wondering if there were anyother parts I should be concerned about.

My obsession with Firefly is overloading my mind. I just started a new fanfic about the Academy. No, it doesn’t involve River. It’s sort of the early days of the Academy and they’re using more primitive methods, not much brain surgery, to hone the student’s psychic abilities but it does involves horrible experiments, with electric shocks, poisons, radiation, military conditioning, and a monkey. My fanfic about the exodus from earth is going well as is my fanfic about the creation of the new worlds by those criminals and indentured workers with lots of deaths and maiming. My Batman fanfic is coming along quite well. I’ve written out the story outline and quite a bit of dialogue for Batman’s new adversary, whom I have yet to name. Here’s a little snippet, it’s out of context and it’s only part of the dialogue so you won’t really know what it means until you read the rest of the story but here it is: “Justice is a lie; it is but a tool, a vehicle for vengeance. It is defined by law but those who forge laws are tainted, impure, guilty, for nothing that lives is innocent. Justice merely creates the illusion that a punishment is not an act of revenge but punishment is defined by vengeance no matter who carries it out, be it the victim, the state, or you. Justice has blinded us to this hypocrisy and its taint must be purged.”

So here is the deal with insomnia. I was actually able to fall asleep, for once, around midnight. Only to wake up two and a half hours later and now I won't be able to sleep again. Since late night/early morning are my "peak hours" it is just like a nap and now there is no going back to sleep now that I have my nap.

This is funny. I should clarify that. It’s funny to me. Recently Mai and I got married. It was a lovely ceremony during a large chat session in the Juggled Gosling. Later that evening I whisked her off to bed. Yesterday she informed me and a few others that we are expecting. That’s really great awesome news. Just wow! Some of you may be a bit confused by now, it’ll get funny a few sentences from here. There are many wonderful people here, but we agreed on CMS as a godparent for our little bundle of joy. I was very excited when I heard the news. I gave everyone bubblegum cigars and generally kept saying, ‘Wow!’ I also changed my status on messenger to say, ‘Mai and I are having a baby!’ Here’s the funny part. My mother logged into YIM this morning and saw my status. She’s confused. She wants to meet this Mai person. And she wants to know how we managed to um, well conceive. She’s also a bit upset that she wasn’t at the wedding. So maybe not all that funny now that I’ve written it down, but it was funny to me because I could picture the look on her face when she said, ‘You’re having a baby?’...oh and she said, 'I'll warn your father.' Heh. I suppose we should start making a list of possible names. I think this may also be a sign that I’ve completely separated from reality. Where’s that pretty white jacket the doctor gave me?

Just thought I should sound like a psychotic freak and tell everyone. Conventions rock! He's so sweet. I just wanna hug him! ... metaphorically, since I actually did that for real anyway.

So, it’s half past six on a Saturday afternoon in the middle of a very cold British winter and what, pray, am I doing?? (that’s rhetorical by the way, as I’m about to tell ya …) Am I slapping on make-up and getting ready to go out on the town? NO! Am I snuggled up under a quilt at home, watching FF and eating popcorn?? NO!! Am I round a friend’s house, getting ready to eat their carefully prepared nosh?? NO!!! I am, in fact, at work, ensconced behind my desk in my cold, dark and miserable office about 40 minutes drive from my home, trying to work out just when Saturday morphed into a week-day! So please, feel sorry for me! Oh wait, I feel sorry enough for myself!! It’s my own fault – I said I was bored at work, I said I needed a challenge – mark my words Browncoats, be careful what you wish for!!! Anyone got a pizza???

So, I got my DVD set back a couple weeks ago after it had been out of my hands for months (friend, friend, mom, neighbor, guy at hubby's work that I met at Serenity). So, I've not been rushing to watch it all, thinking I had plenty of time to do it. Last night while hubby was flicking channels (during commercials on the golf channel), he hollers that Firefly is on. I rush to the room just in time to see Mal talking with Patience and saying, "I do believe that woman plans to shoot me again." (One of my favorite lines.) Hubby then says another guy at work would like to borrow my DVD set. You know, for a fella (my hubby) who didn't fall in love with the show (so he says), he's pretty loose and easy with my DVD set!!

Howd i get into the show? Went to a movie with a few friends, and saw an add for Serenity. I thought it looked cool, ive got a thing for movies and shows with kick ass female characters, there arent enough of them out there. It looked very interesting too. One of my friends who was sitting next to me however, started going crazy. I asked him what was up, hes like "Its Firefly!" I had no clue what he was talking about, so i looked questioning, he said it was an awsome cancelled TV show, then the movie started, so i shrugged, and figured id ask him about it later. I actually remembered seeing the show box set in Barnes and Noble while looking for something else, and reading the back, but not giving it too much thought. Well, this was the beginning of the summer, nearer to the end, he lent me the first disc. I was hooked, though i got a little confused in the beginning, after, i was totally hooked. The characters were amazing, and the plot was great, it was serious, but funny. Well, he lent me the rest of the discs and me and a friend watched them while we were on a trip. By the time we were done, she was a fan too. We counted down, then went and saw the show on opening night, 10:15 showing on Friday. Well, we got out after midnight, and by the next night, me and my friend who had converted me were back for a second showing...and he spent the whole time quoting, I threw a few back. I think the people infront of us pegged us as absolute geeks, and hated us. Oh well, it was just as good the second time. Now, though its out of mainstream, weve been searching for somewhere to see it again. I got a call on wednsday from my friend, and he was going crazy. He'd found a small theater that was, for two days, Serenity. Well, needless to say, weve already got tickets, and are ready to see it a third time. And imensely looking forward to the DVD release.
