Yeah, okay, so now there's an actual blog here. Stupid Internet Explorer. Anyway, my point was: should they have delayed the screenings? My guess is that these current wave of screenings were scheduled before the delay. This means that they're arriving 5 months before the normal time. We're already seeing spoilers leaking out. Someone even posted the massive spoiler in open text on an unmarked thread in this forum. Most places would consider that grounds to expel the person too. I got to see the movie entirely spoiler free. The only thing I knew was that all 9 of our BDMs were returning and that there were Reavers in it to some degree. Other than that: nothing. I don't anyone here will get the same opportunity. Don't get me wrong, I'm delighted to have seen it early but I'm just a bit concerned that a) some fans will get spoiled against their will and b) some fans will leave the forum so that doesn't happen. Other than my own personal gratification, I'm not sure what good the screenings have done. There was already a big underground hype building for the movie and it's not like anyone would take the words of ardent Firefly fans about the movie at face value. Plus of course, some civilians went to this "sci-fi adventure screening" hoping to see Star Wars Episode III (obviously not knowing Lucas doesn't do test audiences any more) and were therefore disappointed. This could also have a negative effect (it certainly did on Wild Wild West when screener audiences thought they were going to see a preview of the Matrix but then saw an unfinished version of WWW. They were not amused.) I guess if they were looking to reassure Universal, this should have done the trick. We were all rapt in it and I think it's fair to say that many of us will happily go to see that movie more than once on the big screen.

ok, so while my mum went to get my oldest from school the youngest decided to chuck a bit of a tantie, not unusual she loves her sissy. so i ask if she wants to see the dogs, the tv, go for a walk, have a cuddle the list goes on... but no. she wants "river and whess jaynnee" i have a pic of the cast as my desktop and she loves naming them, but poor old jayne gets it every time. i think she has a thing for combat fatigues... other than that she loves her "river" and "kayleeeee". so cute to see ive corrupted a second generation wouldnt you agree?

No, can't say I'm skilled enough to pull a Jon Stewart here, but I must say I've been having the most insanely busy past four weeks! It's just been non-stop school stuff. *sigh* Thankfully, we all have next week off. That's good thing number one. Secondly, our campus borders a little creek on one side...thankfully the side my classroom's on...and I was walking down to the English department's building yesterday morning before seven (no kids around, gray skies, very calm) and the creek along my left was just full enough to be making some noise (been having rain all week here). It was just so incredibly peaceful. My heart just took this deep breath and wow I felt so relaxed. It reminded me that I need to go camping soon...just pack up the bus and the wife and go camping. It was my moment of zen. For all of you now singing the Daily Show theme...yeah, gold star on your foreheads! I am too. Daa, nah nah nah naaah, Da-da nah nah nah naaaah....
