Firefly artwork!!
Sunday, 16 August 2009 16:39:29

So not sure if a painted fridge actually counts as "artwork" but here it is none the less... we love Firefly after being hooked on it by our good friends the Hardies down the street. Jamie is an advertising guru and happens to know how to paint fairly well.... :-) Check out our beer fridge in the garage...

Flight of the Blue Butterfly
Sunday, 16 August 2009 18:40:28

It used to just be Lunesta. And that was a moth. I've wanted to say this for almost two years, and I can't take it any more so I will: They're invading. MWHA HA HA HA! The big blue butterflies have landed. And they want our cashy money. They want it bad. If I see one more blue butterfly in any advert spot, commercial break, label, card, or logo, I'm going to start wondering about octopus code. You know, central hub, sticky tentacles everywhere. It'll blow your mind. (not mandatory). Actually, the allergy has now extended to monarchs and tiger swallowtails which are also large and pretty and heavily used. But not as much as the blue morpho, or pseudo blue morpho (ie big blue butterfly). They even pop up in non-butterfly things, such as the shape being formed out of various substances, or coming together and flutterbying away. I am thoroughly curious. And a little disturbed. Or perhaps we've just discovered/formed a new kind of cultural symbol. I can't help but think of the convicts in that one scene in the movie Papillon might've had the right idea.
