For those of you who don't know, www.stillflying.net is a virtual firefly project. Here is their mission statement:
For those of you who are not familiar with our project, Still Flying is a fan-based site dedicated to a "virtual continuation" of Joss Whedon's "Firefly" in the form of scripts of additional episodes. We've rounded out Season One, completing it with seven new episodes (including a season finale based on "Serenity: Those Left Behind" from Dark Horse Comics). Season Two is dedicated to exploring the question, "What would things have been like if Joss Whedon had been able to tell the story of Serenity in 22 episodes rather than 2 hours?" Our story will take you to most of the same places the movie does, but the path along the way will be a little different, and a lot longer. We'll see some old friends and more than a few old enemies. We can't promise that we'll entertain you as much as Mister Whedon would have, but you should know that this project has been put together by those who care about the show, and we're taking this bird up out of love. Like most Browncoats, we know that Whedon will return to us with another movie, book, or some other way to continue the tale he started in "Firefly." Until that time, we'll be here. We will hold the line. We can't show you exactly how Joss Whedon would've done it, but we can tell you... "Here's how it might have been..."
But why should you read this episode, of all episodes? 1) because it is really good and 2) I helped write part of the third and forth acts. The funny thing is, it is the second episode I have co-wrote. The first episode I helped write should air next week. So, go read! Katie

My job has changed my hours at work and my days off. I am so thankful that I have an understanding wife. But this change has caused some headaches for me, now I do not spent as much time on the Fannet. I see my wife when she gets home from work and when I get up in the morning before heading off to work. Our time together has been cut. Any Ren Faire visiting is out.My days off are Tue and Wen so no more Sat off. I feel that I am being treated as if I did an extremly terrible crime by making an chose in a matter by my higher ups. A scapegoat, is the term. This whole things is giving me a massive headache.

Well, to start off it seems like my days are getting busy. Got a LARP to go to tommrow; and it looks like my character wont make it through the night. Got a friends birthday party this Saturday, although I dont know if Ill make it since its in another town and I had mixed the dates together, also I might have to work on Saturday as a guard in a medieval festival. Spent alot of time today at a friends house just blabbering about stuff with my friends, was real nice, alot more lokey and relaxed then usual. We were going to play some games but never got around to it since we were having so much fun. Saw a post made by Jewel Staite earlier, kinda surprised me. Didnt realise the actors sometimes actually read our message boards, always though they would hang on places like whedonesque like Joss Whedon does. Also, how do you talk to a actor/director? I know that the chance of Jewel actually responding to my post are smaller then a snowballs chance in hell but still, came to think of how to adress them. Do you use their first names? I mean we dont really know them, so it feels kinda rude to assume we can. Do we use their full names? Feels kinda awkward somehow when addressing someone? Or do we use a Mr, Mrs kindoff addressment? The last one feels best to me, since we already know their names but arent really introduced. But what do you guys think? And finally, for the Movie reviews. Saw two movies lately, the first was Chicken Little, and the second was Land of the Dead. Chicken Little was funny at times but the ending was not only predictable but kinda silly, well, rather the stuff right before the ending. The actual ending itself was kinda funny. The movie in its whole was rather well animated and most importantly it made me laugh, wich was what I was looking for. However looking at overall quality it wasnt the greatest hit in the Verse. I give it 2/5 Land of the Dead was alot better, it was even better then I expected (remember folks that I like Zombie Movies in general). It had the right amount of gore (for a zombiemovie), followed the traditions of the craft, but didnt overdo it but instead made up some interesting twists. Knowing Romeros previous works and his style, the ending wasnt that big of a suprise. Overall it had some nice effects, good acting and severall nice plot ideas. I give it a total of 4/5 Well, that was all for todays blog. Ill try to post another tomorrow, but dont know if ill be able since ill be in another town. If not then Ill have another little message on Saturday. Going to watch some episodes of Angel before bed. See you all around the Verse!

My muse is being gorram finicky! I cannot seem to write anything more along the lines of the young Jayne fic I started. I guess I should not be suprised, this often happens, but I hate it. I have the story points in my head, I jist cannot get them to translate to the keyboard and all. I guess it's back to one-shots for me. And I like em. Lots, however, it is annoying not to finish something. Gar. Maybe it will all change with a bit of rest and perhaps a brisk workout. Yeh. Later. AgentRusco out.

So, I've been in the boonies for several weeks, as in very little internet and no English-speaking news or TV or connections at all. Just me and my fanfic and my heavy drinking geologist friends, some lovely mountains with fascinating rocks to play with, but bad weather so it's been heavy on the fic, light on the fieldwork... Anyway, on my way home now and (lucky me) I have a 6 hour layover in Istanbul, the airport with no outlets. But, after much searching, I found a very quiet deserted spot with a table by an outlet and - who knew? Free wireless! I think I'm picking it up from the Airport Hotel business center. (It may be all over the airport, I haven't tried anywhere else, but somehow I doubt it...) So, if you're ever stuck in the Istanbul Airport, go to the lobby of the Airport Hotel, to the tiny deserted lobby bar. It's the spot to be! BTW, I'm working on finishing my fic, hope to start posting in 1-2 weeks! It's wicked long, and goes many places that surprised me. Can't wait to share! Yours truly in Turkey - mal4prez

Got the very first part of my Fanfic series "Deliverance" ready for inspection. Let me know what you think about it, the names, the way I write the story sofar (not that it is much) and your theories. The story is set roughly five years after the war between the Independents and the Alliance onboard a Mallard class Medium Transport and it is basicly the tale of its crew and their lives. Think off it as a Firefly spinoff. Deliverance; Episode 1, Teaser. Captain Alexei Hon was lying in his bunk aboard the transport ship Deliverance. He had tried to sleep but he was haunted by memories of the war. Beneath his closed eyelids the fires of Shadow raged, never to die. He opened his eyes and gazed over the small cabin. The place was fairly well furnished. He had his own desk, a comfy armchair where he had often leaned back and enjoyed a good cigar. One of the walls was adorned with several old medals, ID-tags and other war memorabilia but also several crucifixes and other Christian symbols. Alexei got out of his bunk and strapped started to dress. After strapping on his combat boots he started to walk down the short corridor that separated his private room from the cockpit. As he entered the cramped pilot area Farah Hsu spinned around the pilots chair and faced him. ”Morning ´Cap” Alexei stared at the single most defining trait of her looks, a deep white scar running down her cheek, he had given her that scar the day he had saved her life. Farah spinned around again and started to check the control panel. “You had good sleep tonight ´Cap?” Farah was wearing a worn out coat, which supposedly had once been brown but now was more of a grayish-tan color. She had served during the war for the Independents as a codebreaker. Alexei suddenly realized that he had stood still for several minutes without uttering a single phrase. ”Not really Farah, anything up on the cortex?” ”Pretty quit, got some Alliance traffic in the system but otherwise we seem to be pretty alone out here” she responded. Alexei nodded, then leaned on one of the consoles. “You should get some sleep, I aint likely to get any so I might as well pilot this thing instead”. The two looked at each other for awhile before changing places. Alexei ran his hands down the console, he loved flying, and it took his mind of everything else and let him feel simple again. Farah turned around to walk away but paused for a while. “The ghosts will let go sooner or later ´Cap, it wasn’t your fault” “I know they will, that’s the problem Farah, I don’t want them to”

So, the people have been following my blogs know about my educational troubles. Well, got a letter in the mail today about this past years BS. Basically what happened was the I got really bad advise from the student union and that lead to the possibility that I would get straight F's this year. The BS that I'm talking about was written in three separate 15 page documents not including supporting documentation (and another that proves academic misconduct of the University I attended that never got submitted). I won't get into the content here, as I've talked about it before and what isn't in the blogs, I'm just happy it's all over and done with. So, no more re-hashing. The letter stated that I've won my appeal to get a VW from all my courses. This is only somewhat of a victory because I still have lost a year and $2500+. But, the victory is because my academic career is unscathed. And a lump of stress has now left my life *sigh* Will drink tonight

EXAMS!!! YAY!!! :knife: had my english exam today, a 45-minute close reading paper and a 90-minute double critical essay (2 ESSAYS IN AN HOUR AND A HALF?!? i hear you say, but alas!! it is true) and guess what made it extra wonderfully super-duper fun? my little sister, she of the giant brain, sat her int. 1 exam at the same time. the exam that is meant for 5th years and above (ie. people my age) NOT stinky wee 3rd years!!! GAH!!! *throws hands up in despair* never mind, i shall reward myself by watching Firefly and eating ice cream. and the fact that she doesn't get study leave and i do. HA!!! and the disturbingly good mood of the last month continues... b
