to figure out what was off about the BDM. Mind you, it's a great movie. But I always had the feeling there was something a little off kilter. It was obvious, just not to me Dorkfish. Classic case of missing the forest for the trees. Had to re-watch the movie three times, before it hit me. Yeah, I'm a bit slow sometimes. I KNOW that the BDM was made by Universal, but somehow it didn't stick. So it took me re-watching the movie three times (I know, I already said that, but bear in mind that I'm a Dorkfish)to finally realize, the reason Serenity looked so different was that, Doh! Fox owned the previous set and the new one had to look different enuff to avoid legal ramifications. Also did not quite realize till I re-watched it the third time that everyone looked a bit off. Their hair (Jaynes was longer, Wash's shorter, Books cornrows and beard, ect.) The way they dressed (Mal, Kaylee) and other small and not so small things. But more than set, dress, whathave ya, what for me was more.... "wrong" I might say, was the overall tone of the movie. In the Series, Serenity is home, they laugh a lot, they have fun, are a family. Firefly is fun. But in the movie, they all are angry. There is some kidding, some funny lines, all what we love and expect, but it just feels.... different. Can't really explain it, but it bothered me a whole lot and I needed to get it off my chest. *headscratch* Still, it was our Big Damn Heroes, so that movie is still special. Can't help but love them. BoS.
