Hello I don't know if this is the right place. I don't even know what a blog is. Just thought I'd jot down some stuff about me and the Z-verse. Me-male 50, wife....a little younger 2 children,boys 20ies. live: on the coastline of Texas work,yup-in a factory interest,art(Frazetta is the art king) and movies mostly si/fi or fantasy types. likes to joke and not take things to serious.I like to look on the light side of the world but I can get into some deep conversations with the right crowd. I'm not the worlds greatest at spelling so forgive me there.But at the same time I rarely have trouble making a point. Looking forward dawning my browncoat often and I promise to try and keep to tomato sause from staining. Z

I was writing out a scene with Niska for the next chapter of my fic. It's probably the best scene I've written so far, spent a great deal of time on it and rewrote it once. It occured to me that with revision the fic will not be nearly as trite as I think it's coming across. I really, really wanted to work in the Men in Blue, but why? Niska is brilliant because we don't see too much of him. I loved writing him, I loved writing him so much that I had to go and write the second scene that I'm going to have him in after I finished the first. But it also made me realize something, using the characters simply for the sake of using them cheapens the writing. I'm not sure where this puts me, I think I will press forward with the third chapter for now. I'd really like to get the scene with Niska out there and floating around. But after that I'm going to have to take a serious look at the first scene in my second chapter. I need to prioritize getting a handle on Early. Comments said they liked the idea of his being in the story, and much thanks to those who read and enjoyed, but now I'd be doing a disservice to leave it as is. Well, I'm off to plug in Objects in Space again, see Early some more and try my best to capture his essence.

When you turn 30, things seem pretty much set. It's not cool, like turning 17 and getting your driver's license, nor is it like turning 21 when it's ok to drink. When I turned 30 about 6 months ago, it was much more traumatizing, lonely, and final. You name it: your flaws, routines, opinions, credit history, career, work habits, health, where you fit in in this world of ours - all of these have either already reared their ugly heads or have fully established themselves by 30. Your body starts to get all sorts of odd aches and pains for no good reason. You start losing the people you love from age, disease or sickness. Your friends start changing and somewhere along the way, you discover the embarrassing, crazy parents you once knew really weren't too crazy after all. Let's face it. The world has a way of draining you and turning you into Yet Another Mindless Drone. People get bummed out, they doubt themselves, they feel lost and forget who they are, the things they were once capable of, and the good they can do. I should know - it's happened to me. All of this may sound corny to whomever is reading this, but screw it. It's my blog and those sentimental enough to read this far probably have some idea what I'm talking about. After watching Firefly and the BDM, I was inspired to draw and write again after giving it up for an engineering degree and a tech career. It's hard to believe I gave that up 13 years ago (!). I also started to appreciate what I have around me on a different level. Getting older may suck, but it's got some positive attributes. I'm old enough to better appreciate the friends and family I have, yet I'm young enough to still have most of them around. I'm not sure if anyone will ever read this, but whatever - I'm glad Joss Whedon had the stones to come forward and pour his heart and soul into Firefly and Serenity. Thank you. Your courage has paid off. You've truly done a great thing. I'm glad his people believed in it enough to make it happen and spread the good word (this includes the community here at FFF.net). Finally, to the crew of Serenity, great work. Many times, I could swear I was there with you on every job, aiming to misbehave. That's about all I really wanted to say. Alright, I better call it a night if I want to hit the gym tommorrow..

im finding it very difficult to find anything out there to buy similar to the shirts that kaylee wheres in the show the first one i noted is short sleaved yellow with butterflies then shes got a long sleave white background with multi color asian pagoda print the closest in 'spirit' that im coming across are perhaps not so oddly found as YOGA clothing due to the asian themes i am gonna keep searching >>>>>>>

Hey, guys, the internet's been acting screwy and not letting me post, or do much else for that matter..seems to be ok now...gah... Had a lot of messages regarding how I do what I do ..so here goes for the new fans... The brush and ink drawings are drawn on strathmoor 3 ply kid finish and are usually no larger then 10x15 (standard comic book size)I usually rough in drawing from whatever source with a 2h pencil. Then using anywhere from a #2 to a #5 watercolor brush I start inking...after it's done I scan it and using some homemade tone screens I add the zip pattern, add a border and my name (If I can remember to) A finished piece takes about two to three hours.. The sepia toned ones are first sketched on a sepia toned (again no larger then 10x15) paper with a 2h pencil. Then using any number pencil down to 8b I start the darks..These are applied very loosely and then blended with various size stumps..lately I've found that with a softer pencil the tones seem to slide around more..that gives it a more painterly feeling to the piece. When the darks are done I spray the whole thing with a workable fixative and the start applying the whites..I've been using 2b white conte lately...the early ones were chalk but the whites wore off to fast..Then I scan the drawing into the computer add a border and my name..this takes about four hours or less I'm always surprised at what a piece looks like after I post it..most of the time it several tones lighter then the original... Thanks to everyone here for all the positive feedback and even for the critical ones..Hey, It's all just lines on paper, and were all fans here...
