I'm a 34-year-old Black woman from Toronto, Canada. I'm an interdisciplinarian: that is to say, I am a writer, singer, social dancer, and former puppeteer but I earn my living as an administrative assistant and records manager.
I am also a research junkie: I'll happily look up anything. My area of experience is Black history but in unusual areas, namely ballet, burlesque, as well as Black contributions to Early Modern European History. But another area of interest for is the study of sex work in history -- perhaps I channel Inara. I was an active member of the Society for Creative Anachronism for 10 years -- playing a courtesan-- but have lost interest as I pursue other things.
One of the things that interest me is martial arts. I've just started taking karate and I love it. I also want to familiarize myself with the use of weaponry. As well, the sciences -- particularly astronomy and mechanics -- have come to intrigue me.
A personal note: I must admit that I am single and have tired of being footloose and fancy free. I would like to find my own Wash, someone who likes toy dinosaurs and would bring me Kindereggs instead of flowers.
