My love of sci-fi began accidentally while attending the U of MD in 1980 (that means I'm OLD)when I picked up a discarded little paperback by the largely unknown(at least back in those days)author Philip K. Dick called "The Pentultimate Truth" after which I searched everywhere for any PKD book I could find. My son was watching "Firefly" one day last year and I was drawn into it; it seemd to me to be unique and styled like no other sci-fi series on TV. Much like the characters in PKD's books, the characters in Firefly are "everymen/women" and the poltical and social aspects of the future are featured more than the scientific inventions and expertise. I'm still an avid sci-fi reader and political junkie (NOT a "Bushie")and conspiracy theorist. Also a self-proclaimed 'student of human behavior' and 'bathroom philosopher'
