MTV.COM - Browncoats (fans of Joss Whedon’s short-lived TV show “Firefly” and its feature film follow-up “Serenity”) have had reason to rejoice since Dark Horse Comics announced that the adventures of Captain Malcolm Reynolds and Co. will continue with a new six-issue comic series, “Serenity: Leaves on the Wind.” What makes this even sweeter for fans is the choice of writer for the series: television scribe Zack Whedon... I was starting to write this into a fanfic some time ago; one part of it would've gone like this:

"Zoe, y'know, if the timin's off, there's, um, options -" (i.e. gods forbid...abortion...!)
Zoe stopped him with a Look. "Sir, we've known each other a long time."
"That we have," Mal answered uneasily, having a feeling where this was goin'.
"Been through a lot together."
"Truer words were never spoken," he conceded.
"You know I have a great deal of respect for you."
It was spoken flatly, but now Mal knew where this was goin'. "Um, likewise..."
"But if you're heading where I think you're heading, Mal, you better do a one-eighty right gorram now or so help me I will deck you."

I was so hoping that the would be a BDM number 2, with Zoe preggers with lil' Wash Junior. Mal would be extremely overprotective and Kaylee would go all crazy-like over the baby. Maybe Jayne would show his softer side too, or just buy the tyke a load o' toy guns. It would be real shiny, too bad it'll never happen.
