Gina Torres in "Suits" on USA

If there has been a mention of this here I missed it, but I caught a thread about it at serenitymovie.org early this evening.

Gina Torres is in a new show that premiered on USA last night. The pilot for "Suits" repeats tomorrow (Saturday, June 25) at noon and at 1:30pm, and again at midnight. New episodes air on Thursdays at 10pm.

It is also available on Hulu.com and I just finished watching the pilot. Gina plays a very smart and very powerful co-founder of a New York law firm. She is not the star, but is the third billed lead I would say. One of her proteges is the star, with the co-star a newcomer to the firm, who just happens to not be a lawyer although they are telling everyone else he is. I haven't even bothered checking to see who those actors are and what they've done, but I didn't recognize either from anything else.

She has several very good scenes, in one of which she is absolutely gorgeous in a slinky evening dress. I think Wash would approve.

Thanks for the heads up, in the ads it looked like "White Collar" with lawyers so didn't bother to tune in.

Cable has been doing too many lawyer shows.

I hadn't heard about this show at all, or else I would have avoided it like the plague. As it is, my wife tuned into it while channel flipping, so I watched. It was actually a really good pilot and I hope the rest of the series is just as good. Franklin and Bash is also a fairly funny and interesting show so far. I was afraid it would just be a rehash of Raising The Bar, but I was wrong.
