And I would've gone with Nia as River (girl-in-a-box, not quite right in the head, tendency to turn into an alien-controlled killing machine with god-like powers) and Yoko as Zoe (the gunbunny).

Yeah, what you said. I guess the reason they went with Yoko for River is they needed something to approximate the hand-to-hand River violence. Nia is more wtf explosive cybernetic machine sic 'em kill.

Which seriously probably would have worked itself, with her looking all creepy behind a stream of explosive drones coming at the screen, "You don't know what you have."

But oh well.

Thank you. I've watched the two advertisements per episode on Hulu because I was too dumb to get Gurren Lagann without ads on youtube. I am so ashamed.
