Chiwetel Ejiofor, The Operative in Serenity, is in 2012.
Roland Emmerich has always been in the wannabe category for successful epic blockbusters, 2012 is his latest attempt. Normally I'll just be a bit amused, but since Chitwetel Ejiofor is in it, I thought I would make it a point to tell you all.

So what do you think? More eye candy than substance? I suppose on the plus side, John Cusack is in it, so can't be all bad, right?

Did you ever see "America's Sweethearts"? I love Cusack, but he's capable of being in a stinker now and then.

Y'know, I don't remember Emmerich's "Independence Day" being THAT bad at the time. Cool effects, at least. Then I saw a bit of it last weekend on TV. Wow, was that a horrible flick, or what? And the dialog was BEYOND bad.

Being a huge fan of Moon 44, Stargate, and (not caring what anyone else thinks) I LOVED Independence day, I'm looking forward to 2012. The president's speech in ID4 was wonderful. And how often does Randy Quaid get to save the world?!?!
Of course, I love that DD & RE use Jayne reg - I mean, that they hire Adam Baldwin repeatedly - so that's a point in their favor.
I freely admit that many of their recent projects (godzilla, Day after, etc) have been kind of let downs, but there's always something about them that makes them different from all the other 'blockbusters'.
I think if they ever teamed up with Michael Bay, the world JUST might end... but it'd be a fun ride :P

Gotta say that looks like one CG-filled thrill-a-minute, edge-of-your-seat, oh-my-god-this-is-giving-me-a-headache, action-packed, when-will-it-end kinda movie!
I'll wait and see what the word of mouth on it is. Word on Aintitcoolnews.com is that the trailer is an "empty spectacle."
