Fans of Joss Whedon's new show Dollhouse will learn its fate next Monday, when FOX announces whether or not the show will return for a season two. FOX said yesterday in a statement posted on the weblog Dollverse that "The series has not been renewed yet. Any renewal announcement would be made at the upfront presentation a week from today."

Hoping, but not holding my breath.

I think there would be a lot of backlash if they renewed Dollhouse over Terminator. Unless they decide to stick with them both then I think Dollhouse is toast. It's not impossible but if you assume we need both to be renewed the chances look even more slim.

Didn't they already cancel Terminator? The show was doing worse in the ratings department than Dollhouse. I know with the new terminator movie coming out, the Terminator show might have a higher chance of doing better next season than a Dollhouse season 2. But this is unlike since Terminator has been dwindling away. It just doesn't have enough viewers to continue.

Dollhouse on the other hand can only get better. Season 2: No FOX meddling, pure Joss story arcs? Put it in a different time slot and Dollhouse may have a great chance of succeeding (here's hoping!)

I think you will be surprised.

There is a rumor that Fox is going to give this show a second chance. I hope it's true.

Apparently IGN thinks it has a good chance suddenly.

Such positive vibes seem to be spreading:

While I'm pleased for Joss, I can't help but be a little angry that a show that rated lower than Firefly and by every practical measure wasn't as good gets a second season when Firefly didn't.

Fox never wanted Firefly. They thought it didn't fit the networks image.

And yes, Firefly beat Dollhouse in the ratings by over one million viewers.
Sometimes life isn't fair, but at least we now know that a show from Whedon can survive on a major network.
