I don't get it. It says that Alan is a "agoraphobic designer of the Dollhouse."

Does that mean he created the 'Dollhouse,' had himself imprinted to cure his agoraphobia, and then went postal on the Actives?

I was wondering with what Topher said in an episode that Topher might have been addicted to drugs and used the Dollhouse tech to forget his addiction but remember that he was addicted so he would not become addicted again.

Could be we got two guys in their garage inventing the technology to cure themselves and then evil corporation takes their invention and turns it into the Dollhouse.

Or maybe by designer they mean like interior designer?

I immediately thought interior design. I guess it could be design of the whole Dollhouse concept but that seems like Ballard would be finding out way too much too quickly. If he just meets the architect or interior designer then he might find some clues about where the Dollhouse is or who else is in on it.

I wonder if this squashes the Alan is Alpha rumors or if he's still Alpha and he's just faking a persona when he meets Ballard. I suppose that could even be his true identity before he became Alpha.

I figure it means he designed the actual building and interior where the dolls are kept. Because the dolls are never supposed to go outside and have everything they need when they are in there doll state in the house itself, it would make since to have an agoraphobic design it.

Well at least Alan isn't the Dollhouse's pilot, cause that got shot down.

Oh . . . ouch . . . . arrow straight to the heart! NOT FUNNY!

Okay so it was a little funny. Just a touch.

Zoe: "Get it running again."
Mal: "Yeah"
Zoe: "So not running now"
Mal: "Not so much"

My guess is he designed the building. In the last episode the FBI agent went on about the Dollhouse being underground. He may do a search for someone who built such a structure. Since there are Dollhouses all over the world and they require special rooms it would not be hard to figure out they would stand out.
