Ultraviolet remake?

Imdb claims this new remake is based on the British miniseries. Anyone know the truth behind this? It seems pretty loosely based if it is.

Hmmmm. I'ts not technically related. certianly not a straight remake. They tried that with the failed Fox American Ultraviolet pilot in 2000.

I wouldn't be surprised though if this starte dout as a film adaption and through the typical Hollywood development process or the casting of Milla- the plot morphed into this. Still has the same title and is still about humans vs. vampires but in a more typically accepted fahsion...and in the future. Blah. Feels like another Underworld.

The british miniseries of the same name was amazing though- well worth a look for those who haven't seen it.
