okay, so we all know that connor and angel have never really gotten along

(at least, while connor is aware that angel is his father). aside from the finale, angel and connor always seem to be at odds. in yesterday's rerun, "inside out", cordelia is trying to convince connor that angel wants his dead and that everything that angel and co are doing is to try and harm their baby. for one brief moment, connor seems to have some faith in angel. he says "i can't believe he tried to kill you. maybe it wasn't angel. angelus could have tricked us again....". is this the only moment where connor expresses some level of trust in angel? can anyone think of any others?

I think that Connor was just too warped by his Foster Father, Holtz.
Connor had never learned to trust anyone or anything,
and most of all, he was taught to distrust his Father.

So really, I don't think he did...even when defending him, or laughing with hem, ever really trust Angel.

until Season 5 that is, and the difference was being raised, or having memories of being raised, by good people who loved him.

And of course also having memories of living in a normal, not a hell dimension, world where he could feel safe.

Angel's gift, from the end of Season four, really gave Connor a second chance at life.
A chance to develop as a normal, good, caring person who could learn to trust and love.

And of course once he knew the whole story about the mind wipe, I think he had enough perspective to extend that trust and love to Angel
