You know, everyone keeps talkin about three movies and trilogies and all that, but I keep thinkin "Why stop there?" I mean, you have nine complex, fascinating characters to choose from. Theoretically, you could have NINE movies, if you focus on one character for each flick.

I hate to bring up STAR TREK, but I keep thinking that if everything holds out, FIREFLY/SERENITY could become the next STAR TREK franchise. Think about it. A short lived sci-fi show, created by a tv storytelling legend, gains a huge cult following demanding to be returned in one form or another, and was given the greenlight for a huge feature length film. For TREK, this lead to nine more films (I like to think the franchise ended with six. Not to big of a next generation fan) and four spin-off series, not to mention a lasting legacy and impact on our society. For FIREFLY, this could lead to the same destiny.

While stationed in the UK during the late 1980's, I 'stole' an English girl to be my wife; 'overpaid, oversexed and over here', as the saying (still?) goes. We will be married 17 years this April, 'good Lord willing and the crick don't rise' (Texicanism, colorful way of saying 'hopefully'). I loved my two tours in England. There is much good in the British way of life, and I still miss it.

While I do not speak English (I speak American), I felt that as a shortener for my pseudonym, '-z' or '-zee' doesn't sound as good as '-zed', which is reminiscent of a 'countrified' name (i.e., short for Zedediah, or something), and that suits me. Please forgive my co-option of British culture.

I occasionally use other British turns of phrase, where these seem more fitting than an Americanism. Forgive me these transgressions as well, if you will.
