I had this game when it first came out. . .I played it on an Atari 800 home computer.
I loved it. It came with a pair of the superchromatic peril-sensitive sunglasses (black opaque cardboard), a microscopic space fleet(empty sealed plastic envelope), a bit of fluff, but the most important thing was the nifty "Don't Panic" pin.

I loved those interactive fiction games from Infocom and I still have my Commodore 64 version of the Hitchhiker's game. Great stuff and one hoopy game.

An Atari 800! Man that takes me way back. The planetarium I worked at had one of those. We thought it was a real hot machine because it had dual disk drives and we didn't have to keep swaping the DOS disk with the program disk. We use to play some game by Lucas Films. Can't remember the name. Wish I new about the Hitchhiker game back then.
I used to make my own Don't Panic Buttons and glue them to my desk.
