Ok, supposing Serenity is a hit of about the same size as The Matrix, which is my prediction, and two sequels are greenlit, what would they be titled? Because Serenity 2 and 3 would sound awful.

They'd have to be like "Serenity: Awakening" or something like that.

Given recent releases like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, perhaps lengthy titles are in? In which case, maybe the sequel should be called Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle.

Hmm.... depends on the actual story in the sequels.

For example:

If Serenity 2 was about trouble between the Browncoats and the Alliance, the title could be:

"Serenity: Browncoats united"

If they were having loads of trouble with Reavers, then a "Serenity: Reavers!" could be it.

Or a mission gone bad (wouldn't happen to our BDH of course ) : "Serenity: Milk Run"

Serenity 3 should give a clear message to all Browncoats in the 'verse:
"Serenity: Keep Flying"

This is harder than it looks! Gah Ummm...

1. Serenity - we'll need to be left with some type of cliffhanger/not a cliffhanger in case a sequel doesn't greenlight so...

2. Serenity 2 - Regime/DeUnification Day (I'm guessing with the big battle with Blue Sun, some regime changes are gonna happen.

After that, I'm at a loss...

Yeah I was thinking S2: Browncoats united myself but I saw someone else posted it. But on a more serious note depending on where we are left in the story at the end of this one, Serenity: Blue Sun Eclipsed. I know Blue Sun is supposed to be the big bad, But isn't there always something worse? 'sides Reavers.

Then perhaps you could have Serenity III: The Fall of Serenity, 'cause you know Joss is just itching to kill someone.

There's an unproduced outline by Ben Edlund with that title. It'll be interesting to see if any of that outline is incorporated into the BDM.

I think the problem with this is that Universal are specifically trying to move away from Firefly - at least insofar as that's possible. They want the Serenity franchise to stand on its own in order to lure people (those poor, poor people) who never saw Firefly. They want to disntinguish one from the other.

That being said, I too would love to see FIREFLY in the title of a possible sequel.

I hate when movies have the title in it's sequals.. that is so unoriginal.. who cares what the idiot public think, i want a thinking man's movie!

my vote for the sequal? just plain: Blue Sun
or: The Alliance

something like that.. people will see that they are sequals by looking at the movie posters or trailers.. and we don't need sound in space dammit!

I also like the idea of avoiding 'Serenity' in a sequel title. 'Blue Sun rising' is good! he show is full of good names like 'Whitefall' and 'Shadow'. or 'Serenity valley'.
